Yves Saint Laurent Parisienne perfume review
November 1, 2009 - Follow me on Twitter

I’ve been wearing the same perfume for so many years I’ve lost count.
Amarige by Givenchy has been my scent of choice since it launched because it’s one of the rare perfumes I’m not severely allergic to.
Every article of clothing I owe is embedded with the scent. I have to say that I absolutely love the scent and it’s become like a part of own natural scent because I’ve been wearing it for so long.
That said, just like make-up, clothes, shoes, nail polish and accessories, a girl needs a change once in a while and for me change usually means “massive headaches”. It’s not easy to be allergic to smells and this has made my quest to find a new scent a challenge.
Every time there is a new perfume launch, I usually run to the store and ask for a sample because if I spray it on and I’m allergic to the scent, I will get an instant headache and I have to deal with the bad scent embedding my clothing.
When I saw the sleek and sexy bottle of Yves Saint Laurent’s Parisienne, I quickly dismissed it as another perfume I’d end up trying and not be able to wear.
I’ve tried Paris when it came out a long time ago and I could never wear Paris … it just didn’t work against my skin.
Although Yves Saint Laurent has been my favourite make-up line since I was 17 and the clothing line under Tom Ford’s creative talent used to make me cry because it was soooooooooo perfect, I’ve not been able to find a YSL perfume I could wear.
I got a sample of Yves Saint Laurent Parisienne and I was quite hesitant when I first tried it. I expected the usual headache and I expected the perfume to turn when it hit my skin (which often happens to me).
I kept smelling my wrist waiting for the headache to manifest or to find something wrong with the scent.
To my great surprise, I didn’t get a headache and the perfume smells absolutely lovely against my skin.
I know this might sound trivial to most, but I was overcome with joy at the idea that I can finally wear a new perfume.

>>>> Yves Saint Laurent Parisienne is a phenomenal perfume!
Parisienne was created by Sophie Labb and it is a soft, romantic scent sure to evoke memories of romance, love and beauty.
I’m not one of those perfume experts who will tell you that Parisienne has under tones of this floral note or undertones of that woodsy note, but what I will tell you is that is smells divine.
The perfume is like a wonderful floral bouquet you see in beautiful hotels, high end department stores or at your favourite high end restaurant.
Everything about the scent says sophistication, beauty, elegance and grace … and who doesn’t want that in their perfume.
You’ll surely be able to pick up on the rose scent even if you’re not an expert. Now, don’t confuse this with the rose perfumes your grandmother used to wear. Nah, this is a complex, feminine, delicate and MODERN floral blend.
The funny thing is that Parisienne is a the modern/youthful version of Paris, and of course selecting Kate Moss as the face of the brand really solidifies the fact that YSL is appealing to a younger audience.
I’d caution you if you were no longer in your 20s or early 30s and not be tempted to dismiss this perfume. This seductive Yves Saint Laurent scent is youthful and not “young” and I strongly believe women of any age will really love Parisienne.
What can I say? I love Paris (the city) a lot and always have and to be able to wear a perfume called Parisienne created by one of my favourite fashion houses is just too good to be true!
If you’ve not tried Parisienne yet, ladies, I highly recommend you do!
Parisienne retails in Canada for $56 (50 ml) or $96 (100 ml). U.S. readers get the perfume at a better price $39 (50 ml) and $85(100 ml).

I, too, got a free sample of this perfume and at first did not like it…I’m not much into floral, but this one is really much more exotic than any old floral scent. I absolutely love it and it is on my Christmas wishlist for sure. The commercial is a bit provocative, as is every commercial from toothpaste to motor oil, but it really does sell the product. The fragrance definitely makes you feel sexy!
