*** Contest details are at the end, so keep reading AND enter the contest at the very bottom of this post!***

Back in November 2008 and in June 2009, I ran contests and offered three lucky readers a chance to win a Karmin Titanium Hair Straightening Iron (valued at $265) from Hair Products Pro.

It’s always so great for me to share some of the great products I’m exposed to with my readers and Hair Products Pro is giving me another chance to say thank you to one of my readers!

Not only will you find the Karmin Titanium Hair Straightening Iron at a significant discount on the Hair Products Pro Web site (they sell the Karmin for $134.98 instead of $300), but also some of the top brands on the market.

For this contest, Hair Products Pro is offering one of my readers a chance to win a Karmin Salon Pro G3 (The retail price is $300).

<<<<Win a Karmin Salon Pro G3 Iron Contest details >>>>

1) Hair Products Pro offering one reader the chance to win 1 Karmin Salon Pro G3 flat iron (the winner can choose the Karmin Salon Pro G3 flat iron in the colour of her choice – black, white or pink!).

2) The contest is ONLY open to readers living in Canada and the U.S. (sorry to all other readers, but the distributor has set those limits).

3) You must be part of our Beauty Match Insider. If you are visiting this site for the first time, do take time to join our free membership here: Beauty Match Insider. I’m only announcing the winners to my database, so if you’re not only our list, you won’t know if you’ve won or not. Make sure you put a valid email address, because during the March contest three winners didn’t get their prizes because I wasn’t able to get in touch with them.

4) You must leave a comment below with your “BAD hair day story”. You know, that day when you NEED to have perfect hair, but things just don’t turn out that way.

5) Contest is open from November 13 to December 5th, 2009!

If you don’t end up winning the contest, you can still get a great discount. Hair Products Pro is offering Beauty Match readers a 15% discount on the price of the product.

You can simply use the following code to redeem your 15% discount: HPPSALE15

Good luck and don’t forget to inject humour in your comments!

Seven years ago, when my daughter graduated from high school, is when I suffered a bad hair day. It was raining cats and dogs and on top of that, the graduation was being held on a campus that was unfamiliar to me. It was very stressful trying to get my daughter to the graduation on time and simultaneously, trying to drive carefully. My family and I did make it safely and on time however, after finally locating a parking space far away from the building in which the ceremony was being held at, I discovered that there was not an umbrella in sight. I had to drive out of the parking space, up to the entrance of the building, to let everyone out because there was no sense in everyone getting drenched, especially my daughter. After that task was completed, I had to hurry and relocate that same parking space and, I did. It was a long, cold and wet walk to the building, without any protection from the rain whatsoever. My hair was plastered to my head and the building was air conditioned….Not a good combination, especially during a two hour ceromony. I was so devastated that I did not take pictures of my daughter and I together. Unfortunately, two weeks after the graduation, I got sick with pneumonia and had to be hospitalized for a week. It was literally a physically draining experience, as well as a hair raising experience (LOL). In essence, I have learned my lesson. When she graduates from college next year, my SUV will literally be a warehouse, in that everything under the sun necessary to brave the elements will be housed in my truck!!!

My bad hair day started with me blow drying my hair and it just went funny. I tried everything from using a straightener and products. I was flustered and had to wash my hair again. The same thing happened. I ended up wearing a stylish hat with my outfit. The end result was great but boy…my patience was sure being tested and I won because I laughed all the way to my dinner date and he loved my hat.

I never used a hair Straightener before, I think it’s a good chance for me. I hope i can have it for prom.
    thank you!

My worst bad haid day occured just recently. Some people have bed hair, I have extremely bad “airplane” hair. No matter what I do to my hair before flying results in weird looks from fellow passengers. I mean I look like I’ve joined the mile high club without the fringe benefits! My thick, hyper curly lions mane of a do turns into a matted, baked on giant mess; a cross between the red monster in the old bugs bunny cartoon and a troll doll! Dirty recycled air is no good for mixed chics mane! I’m not sure even a flat iron could tame the travel hair mayhem!

My bad hair day story occured about 12 years ago when I was in law school. Since I was older than most of the other students, by about 15 years, I was very conscious of not looking old. I spotted some gray hairs and thought my hair needed to be colored. Since I wasn’t working and 4 of us were living on my husband’s salary, I thought I buy some Clairol and do it myself. I always figured I had dark brown hair – WRONG!!! I bought that color and it turned my hair BLACK. My preschool son said I looked like Pocahontas – his favorite movie at that time. Turns out I’m actually a light golden brown. Who knew? My hairdresser saved me by bleaching it all out and putting color in. Didn’t save much money on that little experiment.

Tried an inexpensive one once! Burned my hair…. Just goes to show, you get what you pay for. Would love to have a good one!

I never know what to do with my hair except having it straight, so there were many bad hair days when I decided to do something different – even pony tails went wrong, lol

  9. Monica Says:
    November 19th, 2009 at 14:17

Everyday seems like a bad hair day, so for the most part I wear it in a ponytail. Pathetic I know! But when I have the patience & time I’ll blow-dry it straight & use hair products. But that’s if I have an hour to spare:)

My bad hair day is everytime it rains. I have naturally curly hair that does not ever behave when the humdity is up. Any product that will keep the curl away would be greatly apprectiated since I am in the public view everyday.

I was going to the RMV to change the name on my license last week. New license = New picture. I had the same picture for the last 6 years and I absolutely HATED it. I thought sun-in was a good idea back when I was 20, meanwhile I had black eyebrows. So I was beyond excited for a new picture! I got up early, showered, straightened my hair and drove to the RMV. Half way there it started pouring, no problem, had an umbrella. I get to the parking lot and there wasn’t a single space. After driving around for 20 minutes, I finally see someone backing out (of course they were parked in the last spot in the lot). I step out, pop open the umbrella and it was broken. I run to the RMV, sit down and wait for my number to be called. You clearly know the end of this story; my new picture is 100x worse than my old one and its good until 2014! Thanks!

It all started with dear Aunt Flo: that dreaded monthly visitor that always seems to ruin everything. As a yearbook staff member I was working during a picture date, but breakfast didn’t mix well with cramping… =/
So, about halfway through the event I realized that my donut was about to reappear… but I wasn’t able to run quickly enough. I got sick EVERYWHERE, including on my shirt and in my hair. Worst part? I was supposed to take my yearbook picture that day. Ohhh yeah. It sucked.

My bad hair day was a first date.. as always .. I’m a nervous wreck as it is.. and without even thinking I put curling mousse in my hair instead of straightening balm.. I had no time to rewash it so I tried to straighten my hair anyways, it came out all starchy and stiff and looked absolutely disgusting. He ended up being just as stiff as my hair so it was fine I didn’t look that great but it was awful!

I would love the opportunity of scoring such a fantastic prize! Both my daughter and I have a natural wave to our hair, but don’t have the opportunity to splurge on a luxurious item as this. I recently got bangs and, for the most part, they’re being brushed to the sides because I can’t quite seem to straighten them properly with the blow dryer/brush. Thanks for your consideration!

Hi! One of my bad hair days (I’ve had many!) was just the other night when I was getting ready to go to my daughters high school play. I had already done my makeup and went to do my hair. Of course, as usual, I am in a time crunch. That in and of itself is enough, but to top it off, when I went to straighten my hair with my flat iron….it was COLD! I have no idea what happened, but the darn thing wouldn’t heat up. Of course I’m in a panic not knowing what in the world I’m going to do, when I remembered my old, old, old flat iron that does heat up, but barely. It was my only choice. Needless to say, my hair did not look the way I wanted it to, but decided it wasn’t me they were going to be looking at anyway and went on to the play as if I looked just fine (even though I didn’t!). So, we are in need of a flat iron, using a curling iron to straighten our hair, or an old flat iron just isn’t doing the trick.
Oh…I got to the play on time and it was fantastic! I think we have a “star in the making” in our family:)

Bad hair happens to me a lot. I have wavy/curly hair that goes frizzy really easy. It results in some funny hair dos from time to time. My sister in law managed to get a picture of one of these dos when I was getting ready for Christmas dinner and she showed up early. Guess what she did with that pic? It showed up on the front page of a custom made birthday card the following year…thanks sis!

I hate my hair!!! It is always frizzy and I can’t do anything with it except put it up. I am tired of pony-tail headaches. I got crazy the other night and chopped most of it off, yes myself!!! Talk about bad hair days….

OMG! I am the Nurse in a Day Habilitation/School for Dev. delayed/Medically Fragile children. We have a Photographer come 2X/yr to take the children’s pictures, and recently they decided to have their STAFF’S photos taken as well. I had my hair re-shaped (cut) approx. 10 days prior, so that it would have time to settle-in, so I could possibly get a decent photo. Well….. you KNOW where THIS is going! My Hair is very fine & straight, no body or lift what-so-ever. I washed my hair, used my blow-dryer and a round brush, then finished it w/a lg-barrel curling iron. Lots of Hairspray (after using a heat-styler spray, too), and I walked out the door into what looked like “Monsoon” weather!!! By the time they got to staff pics, my hair was hanging down/limp all over, except for 1 side which chose to curl up 7 backwards the wrong way. Now I’m stuck looking @ these awful pics on the walls for 6 months, until new ones are taken. BUMMER!!! :( (Sure could use this Flat-iron, it might help-alot!!!)

Well I needed to look very presentable for a school conference for my set of twin boys. I have bsl length relaxed hair. The weather was nice and since I don’t own a blow dryer I usually opt to air dry my hair and then flat iron once dry. Since I was planning to flat iron my hair I didn’t tie it down prior to letting it air dry. Well of course my flat iron didn’t work, I ended up CAJOLING all my hair into a hat and spent the conference with people being fascinated by my hat choice. Go figure!

One of my bad hair days, I can remember the sick feeling when I looked in the mirror and I swear there was a poodle looking back at me. Last time I ever had a home perm!! I love little poodle doggies, but just not on my head. :)

OH GOSH! One of my worst hair days was when I was dying to have a crazy shade of burgundy/red hair. So, being the clueless teenager I was… I plopped a box dye over my already colored dark brown hair. I had super red roots… and I had to go to work in 10 minutes after I found out. So embarrassing! I had major hot roots. Yuck!

    Ladies,

Thanks for your stories. They were all incredible, but I picked the person who has a constant reminder of her bad hair!

The winner of this contest really deserves a new flat iron because having to live that long with bad hair and the constant reminder is just not fun.

That is why I pick #11 Meredith because 2014 is a long time to be looking at a photo that you just don’t like!

I hope this new flat iron will help you have great hair for the holidays.

Do send us photos and contact me with your details in order for the company to mail you the flat iron.
