When I grow up, I want to be like Tina Turner!

Did you watch the 50th Grammy Award Ceremony last night?

Well, I might have missed the red carpet fashion show, but I did catch the ceremony and I surely did NOT miss the performance of Tina Turner.

I’ll be honest, I had no idea Mrs. Turner would be performing because I’ve simply been too busy these past few days to follow the Grammy Award line-up, but I knew I’d be watching to check out the stars and to see who was aging-well.

I was genuinely surprised when Beyoncé presented Tina Turner and was equally surprised, no scratch that, my jaw dropped when I saw Tina Turner dancing and shaking it on stage. After all, Tina Turner is 68 (born in 1939) and that performance had NOTHING of a woman who looked like she had any intentions of slowing down. To top it all off, Tina Turner was performing along side Beyoncé Knowles who is 26 and most of the back-up dancers on that stage could not be older than 28, but that surely didn’t stop Tina from outshining everyone. I dare anyone on this planet to put Tina Turner in a “senior citizen” box. Someone has got to create a whole new category for foxy women over 65 like Tina Turner!

Tina’s legendary legs were in plain view in her to-the-knee silver pantsuit costume that revealed her bare arms. As if that was not enough, Tina performed the entire dance routines in her trademark 3 inches heels!

I don’t know about you, but I don’t know anyone who can move that way at Tina’s age.

After her rocking Proud Mary performance, I could only think of one way to summarize such a daring performance: I want to be like Tina Turner when I grow up!

I also watched Tina Turner at 68 dance her way around a stage filled with women more than half her age.

I agree with you Tina Turner is aging well. I’m not sure I’d have the courage to wear that pantsuit at my current age (38), but if she can get away with it and she feels confident in her own skin…then yes, she should.

Tina Turner is an inspiration to women and she shows us that aging can be beautiful!

Thanks Beauty Match for a great feature!
