We’re changing our beauty direction

Welcome! If you're new to Beauty Match, you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed. Don't miss a beauty beat by joining Beauty Match Insider. Thanks for visiting!
Don’t get me wrong, we’re still going to talk about beauty, anti-aging, non-invasive cosmetic rejuvenation, makeup tips and trends that will help women over 35 look as glorious as they want to look as they age.
We’ve received a lot of feedback from readers and it’s clear that a lot of you really enjoy our take on celebrity beauty. That’s definitely not changing. We will still feature the latest trends and show you how women over 35 can adapt those fashion and style trends to their everyday lives.
There are a few more things we want to add to the mix:
Beauty diet and anti-aging foods:
We will put more focus and attention on bringing you more information on power foods and helping you craft a beauty diet that will keep you more youthful from the inside out.
This request came from a number of readers who seemed uncertain of the foods that would really help them age better. My good friend Krista also made that request so we’ll definitely put more of an emphasis on this section.
More interviews:
We’ve been conducting more interviews lately with beauty experts and celebrities, but we’ll have way more of those moving forward.
Video reviews:
I’ve started reviewing a number of products that I’ve tried and liked and I will have regular video reviews that you can watch on the site.
Our product reviewers:
We’ve recently welcomed on board three fantastic and beautiful ladies who will help with product reviews. I was getting so many products to test that it was getting out of hand, so I decided to get three ladies to help and they will report back on their findings.
Eleni, Daphne and Violetta will test drive products and they’ll let you know if they worked and if they would buy them again.
Slowing Down Life:
Last month, we started a brand new category called “Slowing Down Life”. So many of us are running so fast because of endless lists of responsibilities and lists of things to do that life is simply passing us by and we’re not able to appreciate a lot of it.
A number of my friends are exhausted, burnt out, constantly fatigued, overwhelmed and in many cases very unhappy about their lives. They want to change, they want to slow down, they want to appreciate the little things in life, but their head is so far in the sand that they don’t even know where to start.
Since I’m as guilty as a lot of my friends and since this past summer has been a time of reflection for me based on a number of fairly tragic events that happened in my life, I’ve decided to re-learn the pleasures of slowing down.
In “Slowing Down Life”, I’ll chronicle the activities I’m doing to cut out a lot of the noise and stress in my life and eliminate as many time-sucking activities in my life. I’ll learn how to read on Sunday mornings again, go back to the local market, go for brunch, go back to the museum, catch a musical production, and stop forgetting about making time to catch a movie I really want to see.
I’m hoping that by tracking my progress under “Slowing Down Life”, I’ll find time for Sunday walks, Sunday brunches or simply being at the gym and not thinking of the 20 things that having to do after my workout.
I’ll interview experts and coaches in the hopes of slowing down my life and increasing my fun time.
My goal with “Slowing Down Life” is learning how to disconnect from the chaos of life long enough to recharge my batteries and allow me to keep moving forward in a more balanced manner.
Lipstick Jungle:
If you are new to this site, you might not know how much I L-O-V-E Lipstick Jungle. This show is incredible at portraying women who have well over 23 candles on their birthday cakes as sexy, caring, driving and stylish women.
I’ll report more often on the style factor on that show because it’s such a good example of how to look elegant and sexy as you age. A lot of the fashion trends on that show can easily be adapted by any woman and I’m 100 per cent sure you can take the look and find it at a store that fits your budget.
Since meeting Candace Bushnell at the end of June, my admiration for the show has only grown and I’ll be sitting in front of my telly with pen and paper in hand at the September 2008 premiere.
I’ll also keep track on any other tube fashion and beauty trends I spot.
I hope you’ll like the new features we’re going to add. I want to thank all the readers who have left comments and I just want to remind you that you can leave us a comment at any time or email us with your own experience or opinion about what we write.
