With all this talk about antioxidants … I decided to put pomegranate juice to the test. Since I quite enjoy smoothies … I thought of combining the two and create a power-packed breakfast smoothie.
I used the single serving of Food and Wine magazine’s Pomegranate and Banana smoothie and I added some protein powder to the mix.
It was quite delicious and the protein kept me full until lunchtime.

Pomegranates are the power food that can help you age better!

I quite like pomegranates and I’ve always enjoyed eating them as a fruit and I also quite like them in salads.
Eating a pomegranate takes as much dedication as eating an artichoke: you spend all this time peeling off the outer layer to get the inside where all the good stuff resides.
I’m sure you must have seen all the new pomegranate juices and pomegranate juice mixes available on the market. If you’re not interested in having to play around with the fruit in order to take advantage of the goodness of the pomegranate … they are quite convenient and easy to use.

I’m testing Perfect Skin from Genuine Health to control my acne

I’m all about finding any product that can help control my acne. Not long ago it hit me that I’ve been battling acne since I was in my very early teens and I only had a short respite from acne in my 20s and early 30s.
I have to say that never in a million years would I have ever thought that I’d still be battling with acne at my age. The reality is that more and more women are dealing with acne well into their 40s and late 40s (I’ve actually spoken to women in their 50s who dealt with acne) because of environmental and nutritional changes that are affecting our hormone levels.
Another major cause of acne is stress! We’re living in a time where we are “on” 24/7. We’re multi tasking … we’re double and triple booked … we’re flying around the globe for business meetings or conferences … we’re working longer hours … we’re sleeping less now than at any other time in history … we’re eating low quality food on the run. It’s really no wonder why so many women deal with acne in their 30s and 40s.

PLEASE don’t keep sweet potatoes for Thanksgiving and Christmas
I’ve never been able to understand why so many people discriminate against the sweet potato and limit this delicious and nutritious vegetable to Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.
Most markets and grocery stores sell sweet potatoes year-round, but when winter ends, so many people turn a blind eye to one of my favourite root vegetables.
In recent years, I’ve diminished my consumption of potatoes in favour of the sweet potato. Don’t get me wrong, I still LOVE potatoes, but given that they are white starch (which turns into sugar in your body) I wanted to keep them for those special and favourite dishes such as: mashed potatoes (with real cream and real butter), roasted potatoes, as part of corn or clam chowders and frites when I eat out (skinny French fries). Since I don’t eat these foods on a regular basis, I love to indulge in the goodness of the potato on those occasions.

Too much sugar in your diet will age you: 7 tips to reduce your sugar intake

If I told you that sugar was a major ager, would you be willing to give it up to avoid premature aging?
I should pre-warn all the chocoholics out there because you will hate what I have to say about sugar.
Sugar has up to now been closely associated with tooth decay and obesity, but now more and more researchers are linking sugar to premature aging!
Before I continue, I should come clean and say that I’m not much of a sugar person. I will add sugar to my lattes and a tiny bit of sugar to my tea, but I’m not a big dessert person and I don’t drink soft drinks. I could go one entire year without eating chocolate (and have) without any problems. I usually have dessert only once or twice per month, so I’m fairly disconnected from most of my friends (male and female) who either cannot live without chocolate or who could not go one week without dessert.

Remember that when it comes to aging well, Food Matters!
This new DVD will become “The Secret” of nutrition (mark my words)! If you’ve not yet heard of “Food Matters“, it won’t take long for this to become a phenomenon. I cannot wait to see how long it takes before Oprah features this revolution on her show.
“Food Matters” will shock a number of people and it will anger others. The DVD is an in-depth analysis of what’s wrong with our food and why so many people are so incredibly overweight.
