It’s safe to say that most of us living in big cities are privileged to a number of incredible art galleries that we never or rarely visit.

It’s true that everyone’s taste in art can vary greatly, but there is an exhibit out there that will surely fit everyone’s taste. I personally L-O-V-E abstract art and I always enjoy looking at it but never make time to extract myself away from the computer to actually soak in the talent of so many local artists.

I still don’t know how to stop being a super woman!

stressed_out_depression

Do you remember the post I wrote earlier this year titled This year, I will not try to be Super Woman!?

In that post I promised myself that I would start decreasing the amount of work I was juggling and take time to smell the roses. Well, it’s been several months since that post and it’s been a fairly hectic summer with some very unpredictable events that were completely out of my control … needless to say that I’ve not been smelling too many roses.

Steve Pavlina reveals the secrets to Personal Development for Smart People

I’ve been reading Steve Pavlina’s blog for a few months now because a number of other business and copywriting bloggers kept referring back to him. I’ll be honest, until Steve’s name kept popping up as an example of a blogger who was not afraid of writing essay length posts and in return was getting something like 2 million visitors per month, I had no idea who he was, but that kind of pedigree was compelling enough for me to want to know more about this trail blazer.

Steve Pavlina has a very colourful and interesting past, but what’s most interesting about him is the fact that he’s put to the test most (if not all) of the personal development tips and techniques he features on his blog. I guess, he’s quite accurate in his statement when he says that:

“Personal development is hard work. If you’re looking for shallow quick fixes, you’ll need to look elsewhere.”

Who else feels totally overwhelmed and stressed out lately?

Since most of us were already quite stressed out before the stock market events of the past few weeks, this recent string of bad news has sent a lot of us to the brinks of panic and deep stress.

With financial analysts and experts comparing this month to the crash of 1929, these past few months have really increased the stress level of most people around the world.

Let’s also not forget how the international real estate market collapse has affected so many people. Between losing homes, losing jobs and losing live savings, it’s safe to say that most people are totally stressed out!

I’m doing the 100 Day Challenge!

100 Day Challenge

In my quest to find a more balanced life, I came across this goal setting challenge I had highlighted on the site a few weeks ago.

I think that sometimes, you need some help in getting to where you want to go in life and in some cases it might mean hiring the services of a Life Coach.

The problem with that solution is that it’s a very expensive proposition, but it’s a sure-fire way to be accountable for your outcome.

Napping salons are offering New Yorkers a new way of rejuvenating

Even the city that never sleeps needs shut-eye once in a while!

On the same topic of power napping, there are now Yelo sleep salons, which offer 20-to-40-minute power naps and reflexology treatment. Yelo sleep salons are quite the experience.

They offer patented private sleep chambers called YeloCabs that feature purified air, 500-count linens (sweet), cashmere blankets (the ultimate luxury) and Yelo’s own YeloChairs, which are specially designed to elevate the legs above the heart for optimum relaxation.

Sleep deprivation is a major cause of premature aging

Leave it to the Americans to solve the problem of millions of sleep deprived people around the world by creating power nap stations. After all, we do have “power walks”, “power suits”, “power meetings” … so why not “power naps on the go”?

Would you be surprised if I told you that the power nap concept started in the city that never sleeps – New York City?

The 100 Day Challenge will start soon

This will be a very short post to share something I just came across.

In a quest to slowing down life and find more balance I thought I should take a (good) look at my goals and see how they align with my journey. I found this video to be one of the most inspiring videos I’ve seen in a long time and this challenge might just be what I need right now … the timing could not have been more perfect!

Take a look at this and tell me if it doesn’t move you to action. The
100 Day Challenge kicks off on September 22:
