Beauty Quotes to live by, laugh and love

Here are a few more quotes I’ve collected lately and I wanted to share them with my readers!
“She got her good looks from her father – he’s a plastic surgeon.” — Groucho Marx
Krizia’s banter: I cannot say that I know much about Groucho Marx (American comedian part of the Marx Brothers, born in 1890), but I find it interesting that a comedian who became hugely popular at the beginning of the last century could have even come up with a joke that’s much more suited (in my opinion) to the this new age of popularization of all things related to cosmetic enhancement and plastic surgery!
“The ideal of beauty is simplicity and tranquility.” — Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Krizia’s banter: I really could not agree with Goethe. I feel the prettiest when I feel tranquil inside. Those are days where a little mascara and a little gloss is all I need because I’m just glowing from the inside out.
“The man who views the world at 50 the same as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life.” — Muhammad Ali

Inspirational Quotes from Diane Lane, Shania Twain and Kate Walsh

I haven’t posted inspirational quotes on the site in a long time.
I don’t think there are any particular reasons; it’s just that I had not found much that really moved me.
I did recently find these three quotes from Diane Lane, Shania Twain and Kate Walsh really worth sharing. These are excerpts from Redbook magazine and I think it’s really always great to hear how other women see themselves!
1) Inspirational quote by Shania Twain: “I’ve recognized how fragile I am.”
>> I’ll have to agree with Shania on this one. I also recently came to the realization of how fragile I am. When you spend most of your life fighting to get to where you want to be in life, you build up this armour and you forget that you are human. In my case, I’ve had this suit of armour since my childhood and it’s only lately that I’ve actually allowed myself to admit that some times, I’m tired, scared, afraid and I don’t have all the answers. I don’t think you want to be in this kind of mindset 24/7, but sometimes standing back and admitting these are feelings you are dealing with is healthy as long as you keep moving forward!

Beauty Quotes from Patricia Clarkson

I’ll be honest. I didn’t really know who Patricia Clarkson (49, born December 29, 1959) was before reading her quotes in the U.S. edition of More Magazine, but I liked so much what she had to say about growing older that I had to do a quick Internet search to find out about this New Orleans native.
“Untouchables” was one of my favourite movie, but it’s been such a long time since I’ve seen it that I really don’t remember Patricia Clarkson.
I hope her beauty quotes will inspire you as much as they inspired me!
About being in her 40s, Patricia says: “There is joy in my life I didn’t have in my thirties.”
“I have the career now that I was hoping to have in my thirties. But I was never really an ingénue, and that, oddly, may be what saved me.” — Patricia Clarkson, More Magazine (American Edition), November 2007

Beauty Quote by Henri B. Stendhal

“Beauty is the promise of happiness.” — Henri B. Stendhal
Henri B. Stendhal (1783-1942) is a French author (born Marie-Henri Beyle) who in 1800 accompanied French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte on his heroic crossing of the Alps into Italy, first coming at this time to know and love Italy. He rapidly became a functionary of some importance under the Napoleonic Empire and spent the years 1806-1810 in Germany, where, among other places, he stayed for a time in the town of Stendhal, from which he derived his pseudonym.

Beauty, Fashion and Life Quotes by Coco Chanel
I had already posted a few posts from Coco Chanel, but given that I just wrote on a post on the upcoming North American release of the Coco Chanel movie “Coco avant Chanel” I thought that I should highlight some of Gabrielle Chanel’s best fashion and life quotes:
“The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud”
There is nothing more important than being able to think for yourself and not let others or the media decide for you.
“Fashion fades, only style remains the same.”
Bravo! Bravo!

Beauty Quotes by Sandra Bullock

I’m doing something completely different for this quote. I was flipping the pages of In Style March 2009 issue again. I tend to have to go through my magazines twice because there’s so much I miss the first time. I was flipping through the pages of the In Style again when I noticed a quote from Sandra Bullock, but then discovered there were at least five amazing quotes on aging well from the actress.
We’ve not seen Sandra Bullock (44, born July 26, 1964) in a while, but she’s now making the junket round to promote her new movie: “All about Steve.”
Here are my favourite Sandra Bullock beauty quotes:
Beauty Quote from Lisa Kudrow
At 45, you know what you’re doing, but you’re still NOT done! — Lisa Kudrow (formerly of the 1990s hit show “Friends”) – More magazine U.S. Edition December 2008.
Beauty Quote from Meredith Vieira
“Oh God, I really am 54, but I’ve made a commitment that I won’t do anything to my face” – Meredith Vieira – More magazine U.S. Edition December 2008.
Beauty Quote from Maria Bello
“My weight fluctuates about 15 pounds because I enjoy eating and dislikes regular exercise. I’ve never been one to like really skinny bodies. When I see these young women getting skinner every day, that’s not an image I want to put out there. I prefer to show myself as a real woman and a real person; I don’t want to get caught up in that ego challenge of the skinnier I am, the better … which is easy to do. There are a lot of women now who have regular bodies who are in the media and are beautiful … women who are strong with regular bodies and aren’t starving themselves.” – Maria Bello (41, born April 18, 1967) interview with Viva Magazine.
I was flipping through the pages of Viva Magazine and I could not help but extract this part of Maria Bello’s interview because I’m a firm believer in enjoying food and avoiding the super-skinny look which I think doesn’t even look good on the catwalk – I’m the ultimate gourmande (foodie) and I’m damn proud of my non-size-zero body and curves.
I’m the product of the 1980s supermodels when women like Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, Elle Macpherson, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Yasmin Le Bon and Claudia Shiffer were size 4 to size 8 and they looked incredible and sexy AND the clothes looked as it should on their bodies. Today, the current “it” models simply look like they need to be force fed! I say BRAVO Maria … BRAVO for speaking your mind!
