Sofia Vergara is a testament to the words: Latin bombshell over 35

I’ve seen her before and her face and body are unforgettable, but I think her accent might make an even bigger impression because it’s muy Latina (very Latin).

That said, I had not been able to put a name to the voice (or body) until I was watching one of my favourite late night shows – “Chelsea Lately” (with funny woman Chelsea Handler).

I regret in a way that Chelsea is only 33 because I’m dying to feature her as a Celebrity Beauty Pick. She’s smart talented, brilliant, funny, very beautiful … but she’s not over 35 yet!

Well, back to Sophia … I really didn’t think Sofia Vergara (aka Sophia Vergara) was over 35 until Chelsea mentioned that she had a 16 year old son.

That got me calculating and I thought that maybe she might be in fact one of those Latinas who is aging oh-so-well.

A quick research revealed that I was right, Sophia Vergara (36, born in July 1972) is the perfect candidate to be featured as a Celebrity Beauty Match Pick!

This Colombian beauty is born in the same city as singer Shakira — Barranquilla. She started her public career modelling and made her way more recently to acting.

We’ve seen Sophia in series ranging from “Entourage” … to “Dirty Sexy Money” … to “Men in Trees”.  It goes without saying that Sophia has had a string of roles on Spanish soaps and TV series.

In 2000 Sophia was the recipient of the “Woman of the Year” Award by Nobel Peace Prize Winner Rigoberta Menchu for her contributions to inspire young Latinas. In 2002, Sophia became the first Colombian to win “Women of Hope” Award for her inspiring role with Hispanics and in 2005 she made the 101 Sexiest Celebrity Bodies list and it’s clear that at 36, this mother of one still has a body that would make most 18-year-olds green with envy (heck, I’m green with envy).

Sophia is my Celebrity Beauty Match Pick because she’s not only incredibly beautiful and it’s obvious that she’s aging (very) well, but she also takes time to give back by inspiring other Latinas and showing those young girls that anything is possible … if you really want it.
