Smashbox Photo Finish Primers: 2007 Best of Sephora Winner

Photo Finish Primer (Smashbox’s signature product) is an oil-free primer that you apply to your skin just after you’ve applied a moisturizer and before your foundation to fill fine lines and wrinkles. Along with helping minimize fine lines, it also helps set your make-up for those hot and humid days (or nights). Since the clear gel primer is colourless, it’s suitable for any skin tone and ideal for ethnic beauties who often struggle to find the perfect shade of make-up.
Photo Finish Primer by Smashbox (which is a “2007 Winner Best of Sephora”) is a silicone base primer that contains grape seed extract, vitamins A, C and E. It’s extremely sheer and goes on like a thin veil.
Recently, Smashbox has extended their lines of Photo Finish Primers by adding new formulations that help correct certain skin related problems.
* Photo Finish Color Correcting Color Blend: This primer helps balance skin tone. This is an excellent primer for women who are pregnant, those with freckles, facial veins and dark circles.
* Photo Finish Correcting Primers: There are three formulations in three different colours (apricot, lavender and green) that help correct anything from redness, lack of brightness, shallowness or yellowish complexions.
* Photo Finish Primer Light: Although Smashbox’s original formula is 60 per cent water based and completely oil-free, they’ve created a lighter version of their primer for problematic skins. If you have sensitive skin or if you break out just by breathing, this might be a good formulation to start off with. It gives a finish that is as perfect as the original formula.
Needless to say that when I found out that the Photo Finish Primer Light was a new lighter formulation created for my sensitive/combination skin, I had to try it and I’ll admit that it does what it promises to do. Not only did I have flawless coverage (can you say just as good as airbrushing), I did NOT break out!
The Smashbox Photo Finish Primers retail anywhere between $44-$48 CDN and $36-$42 USD.
In Canada and in the US, you can purchase their primers at Sephora stores, Sephora’s Web site, a number of pharmacies/drugstores and you can catch them on shopping channels as well.
