Should you try a lip plumper?
December 31, 2007 - Follow me on Twitter

When I recently tried MAC Cosmetics new collection of lip glosses and discovered it was yet another lip plumper, I knew that this lip plumper thing was here to stay a little longer.
It would certainly appear that most women are looking for fuller and bigger lips.
During a conversation with a Beauté Cosmetics representative, I told him how surprised I was that so many cosmetics companies were focusing on lip plumpers. He responded by saying: You can never have too much lip!
If you’re not ready for lip implants (à la Britney Spears or Pamela Anderson) and if you’re not yet ready for lip injections via treatments like Juvederm or Restylane injections, you might simply buy a lip gloss or lipstick that contains ingredients that will stimulate the blood in your lips and give you a bigger fuller pout. Most lip glosses that also act as lip plumpers contain derivatives of cinnamon and cayenne pepper.
It’s true that DuWop Lip Venomplumper was voted Sephora’s favourite, but you’ll find a number of other products that have a duo role of lip gloss and lip plumper.
Beauté Cosmetics: These glosses glide on as a smooth non-sticky gel and provide a satin finish that feels more like a moisturizing lipstick than a lip gloss. Along with benefiting from the hydrating characteristics of a lip gloss, you get the advantage of a lip plumper … all in one tube.
MAC Cosmetics: MAC Cosmetics’ latest lip glosses contain ingredients that activate the circulation in your lips to make them appear fuller.
Stila Cosmetics: Stila’s Lip Gloze lip glosses come in an array of soft colours that also give your lip size a boost.
Lip Fusion: Lip Fusion is more than just a lip plumper. It’s actually the only product on the market to offer more permanent results because it contains collagen. Basically, the plumping effect will last even when you’ve removed the Lip Colour Shine gloss off of your lips.
Lip Fusion Treatment: You can also use Lip Fusion’s 2 x Micro-Injected Collagen + HA Advanced Lip Plumping Therapy as a 48-hour treatment to increase the size of your lips. This product has won the “Good Housekeeping Award” and therefore you get a two-year guarantee on the product if it doesn’t meet your expectations.
MD Skincare now offers Serious Lip Treatment: MD Skincare Serious Lip Treatment is another product that offers longer-term results. The MD Skincare Serious Lip Treatment is a two-step treatment where you start with a plumping gel (step 1) and end with a hyaluronic cream (step 2) to give your lips fullness.
