Sharon Stone is not impressed with Hollywood’s ageism

There are a number of things I quite like about Sharon Stone and a number of things I really dislike about her.
I’ve featured Sharon a number of times on this site because at the end of the day, she looks absolutely incredible and she just turned 50! She really is proof that beauty has NO age limit when you choose to age well.
I was quite impressed with Sharon’s recent modelling contracts which included Badgley Mischka and Dior, but her recent banter about the massive earthquakes that shook China earlier this year and them being a sign of punishment from the universe for the way China has been ruling over Tibet, sent a number of angry (and most likely very rich Chinese consumers) screaming for bloody murder and as a result, Dior dropped her from the international campaigns (I still see her face here in North America).
Say what you will about Sharon, she’s not shy to express her opinion.
Speaking of Sharon expressing herself … it seems that Sharon is not very impressed with the way Hollywood treats actresses who (make the mistake - please read with loads of sarcasm) of turning 40!
In an interview with More magazine, Sharon declared that when it came to turning forty (back in 1998), she felt thrilled and excited, but that feeling was not shared in Hollywood … “it’s like you have leprosy … I couldn’t get a dress or a job … suddenly freebies and movie roles dry up”!
I think it’s safe to say that Sharon was sizzling hot back in 1998 at 40 and today at 50 she’s equally gorgeous. No one will ever forget Sharon’s pivotal role (alongside Michael Douglas) in the original 1992 thrilling blockbuster “Basic Instincts“, but the roles she’s secured in the past 10 years since turning 40 in films like Casino and Bobby might be her best to date.
