I’ll be honest, before Shania started singing “Any Man of Mine” (from The Woman in Me album) back in 1995, I truly knew very little about country music.

Some might argue that Shania is not truly country, but one thing for sure is that this Canadian from Timmins, Ont. has opened the door to allow a lot of non-country music lovers to actually appreciate it.

I won’t go into details on Shania’s groundbreaking career that includes over 75 million country albums sold worldwide (including 48 million sold in the U.S. alone), countless awards and critical acclaim, but I will say that Shania (42, born in August 1965) has broken some major records.

Shania has been the face of major cosmetic giant Revlon and she’s also followed many other singers and has launched her own line of perfumes.

This is certainly a woman who is aging well and it’s always so great to find out what stars use to help them keep looking with every passing birthday. Some celebrities adopt a beauty regime that is totally out of reach for the average person, but Shania’s beauty secrets seem to be quite affordable to all of us.

Shania’s beauty secrets

* Shania is a Sant Mat practices and daily meditation.

* Shania bypasses more expensive cosmetic brands and prefers to use a fairly unknown skincare product by the name of Bag Balm. The Canadian singer applies this ointment normally applied to cow’s udders (mammary organ involved in the milking process) during the winter months to protect her skin from the harsh weather (she lives in Switzerland).

Bag Balm was created to help heal chapped skin and superficial abrasions on female cows, but it is also used as a treatment for chapped and irritated skin on humans. You might not have heard about it and it might not have even been promoted in any fashion magazine, but Bag Balm is produced by the Dairy Association in Vermont and Quebec and it’s readily available in drug stores and ski resorts in Canada and the U.S.
