Self Magazine recession-proof beauty favourites

I was watching the late night broadcast of “The View” and there was another segment on recession-proof beauty products. I’ve already featured a number of these segments on the site and there will be more to come because everyone is far more concerned about budgets than ever before. And women are looking for the best beauty products that are the most cost effective.
All the major cosmetic companies are fully aware that customers are stretching their dollars and that’s why you’ll notice more and more of them highlighting their best valued products.
You’ll also notice that most beauty editors and beauty bloggers are putting to the forefront some of the best deals on the market.
That’s exactly what Lucy Danziger of Self magazine did during the episode of “The View” I watched.
Self magazine asked their readers to choose their favourite beauty products for the year and here are some products that are priced at under $20 US/$25 CAD.
Most of these products can found in Canada, the U.K., Australia and many other countries where my readers reside because many of these brands are manufactured by big international companies, but if you are not able to find the exact same brands, don’t be shy in going out there and finding great beauty products at great prices.
In some cases a more expensive product makes more sense if it works, but there are plenty of very reasonably priced beauty products on the market.
Self magazine picks 12 beauty products under $20 US/$25 CAD:
1) Garnier Nutritioniste Ultra-Lift Pro Deep Wrinkle Roller
2) CoverGirl and OLAY Simply Ageless Foundation (Ellen DeGeneres announced on her show “Ellen” a few weeks ago that this foundation was the best-selling in America)
3) Aveeno Continuous Protection Sunblock Lotion SPF 50
4) Jergens Natural Glow Healthy Complexion Daily Moisturizer (this is a bronzer and self-tanner)
5) Almay Smart Shade Concealer (This concealer changes colour on contact with your skin to perfectly match your skin. This might be true for Caucasians, but Whoopi Goldberg tried it and it was a bit light on her skin colour so darker skin beauties might want to test drive this beauty product)
6) Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Quad (this is one of the only eyeshadows on the market to contain SPF protection)
7) Herbal Essences Hydralicious Featherweight Shampoo (this is a good product for fine hair)
#8) Garnier Fructis Sleek-Shine Instant Melting Conditioner
9) L’Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray (this is extremely popular in Europe and could not be found in North America until recently)
10) Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Color (you’ll only need to apply one coat)
11) Earth Therapeutics Intensive Heel Repair (this will help you have beautifully groomed feet even when you cannot afford a professional pedicure)
12) Benefit Bad Gal Liner Waterproof Eyeliner pencil
It’s true that Self magazine has a readership that is much younger than Beauty Match, but most of these products work at any age.
