Review: Redken Real Control Overnight Treat Night Recovery Treatment is an excellent hair treatment!

If there is a new hair treatment out there, I’ll be sure to try it because I’m a big believer in hair treatments … especially in the dead of winter.

I’ve been using Redken shampoos, conditioners and styling products for a long time. The Redken Smooth Down Butter Treat is one of my favourite hair treatments because it does wonders at repairing my chemically treated hair.

I just caught wind of a new product launch from Redken and of course, I just had to try it!   I’ve tried a number of times the Redken Real Control Overnight Treat treatment that is part of Redken’s “Real Control” line formulated to nourish, restore and reclaim control of dense, dry, sensitized hair.

The concept of the overnight treatment is brilliant!

I basically apply a generous amount of the Redken Real Control Overnight Treat treatment to my hair, I let it air dry and then wrap my hair with a silk scarf and head to bed. The next morning, I simply need to rinse off the product, shampoo, condition and style my hair.

What I have noticed is how soft and shiny my hair is after using the Redken Real Control Overnight Treat treatment. I also noticed that the treatment doesn’t weight down my hair at all … which is a good thing because no one wants to walk around with weighed-down hair that’s not bouncy.

In a sense it’s quite logical because the treatment stays in my hair as long as I sleep … so it really has a lot of time to penetrate deeply into my hair.

I think this product is not only ideal for your weekly home treatments, but this is a great product to take with you if you are heading to the beach because you are able to deep-condition your hair at night after having spent time in the sun.

Did I see any results?

After washing my hair, I could tell immediately that it was much softer and my hair was very easy to untangle.

Would I buy it? Yes, I would certainly buy Redken Real Control Overnight Treat treatment.

Would I replace my current hair treatment product? No – it would become part of the mix. Right now I use the Ojon Restorative Treatment as a scalp and hair treatment and it’s done wonders for my hair, but since it’s a more involving treatment, I find that on days when I don’t have time for a big products, I can reach out for the Redken Real Control Overnight Treat treatment, go to bed and wake up with treated and hydrated hair. I also intend on taking this product with me when I’m on vacation because it’s easy to carry and it won’t create a mess.
