A few months ago I had featured products made with the revolutionary beauty secret from Morocco: argan oil.

If you missed that post you can read it here: The Argan Oil from Morocco is changing skincare!

Argan oil is also one of the reasons why the new Moroccanoil is so popular with hair stylists and women who use it in their hair.

I’ve been seeing the blue labelled bottle for a while my hairdresser, who asked me a few months ago if I had tried it yet. I told her about how back logged I was when it came to new products to test and she told me that I needed to drop everything and try this new oil because she’s been using it on ALL of her clients … regardless of their hair.

In fact, I’ve seen my hairdresser apply the oil to Caucasians, mixed raced beauties, women who have a more afro texture to their hair all the way to women who have full afro hair.

One word of caution, if you have very thin and limp hair … you might want to use very little since it’s hard to get away from products that weight down your hair.

After one of my relaxers (for those who don’t know what it is … it’s when you go to your hairdresser so she can apply a chemical relaxer to break the natural curl of your hair), my hairdresser applied the Moroccanoil mask (I’ll be reviewing this product soon) and then she finished my hair style with the Moroccanoil. Once she was done she kept asking me to touch my hair to feel how soft it was. I did agree that my hair was quite soft, but then again it’s always soft when I leave her salon … it’s when I have to deal with my hair on my own that I can actually evaluate the effectiveness of a product.

My hairdresser gave me a sample of the Moroccanoil and I tried it because one morning during the middle of our brutal winter my hair was so dry it felt brittle. It really didn’t take much time to feel and see the difference.

My ends were instantly smooth and easy to comb through. And when I looked at myself in the mirror my ends didn’t look like a fur ball … they looked smooth.

Since that day, I’ve been using Moroccan oil on my ends to manage my hair. I know when my hair is very dry, because the product is immediately absorbed by my hair and I have no residue on my hands.

I’ve tried oils before in my hair and usually shy away from them because my hair during the day because they often feel heavy/greasy and some have such strong odours I don’t want to deal with that unless I’m doing a weekend hair treatment and I don’t have to be around people.

The Moroccanoil never feels greasy and it has a soft lovely smell that dissipates fairly quickly after applying it to the hair.

It’s true the Moroccanoil is not inexpensive because it sells for $39 USD/ $45 CAD (for the larger bottle) and $25 USD/ $35 CAD for the smaller bottle. That said, with all my big-and-wild-child hair, I manage to use a small quantity, I’d safely say that your bottle will last you the entire year … if not more.

Did I like this product? Yes, I did like it quite a lot.

Would I buy it again? In a heartbeat! I cannot see my hair care regime being complete with Morrocanoil!
