Review: FHI Hair Dryer for damage-free blow dried hair all year round!
July 1, 2009 - Follow me on Twitter
It’s that time of the year again where you just don’t want to spend one minute indoors because you want to soak in as much of the summer (with plenty of SPF protection) as you possibly can.
With summer comes another problem: humidity! Nothing screams a bad hair day (in my world anyways) like a high humidity index.
I’ve been quite happy with my FHI flat iron (which I dubbed, the best flat iron ever) and now that summer is almost here I found myself in need of a blow dryer.
If you missed my review, you can still catch it here: I found the BEST flat iron (period)!
Blow dryer can be the kiss of death for women who have chemical relaxer and hair colour because you are adding to the dryness and brittleness of your hair. Women with thin hair aren’t fairing well either when it comes to damage caused by constantly blow drying their hair.
I confirmed with my hairdresser to find out if it made sense to also get a FHI Hair Dryer since I was sooooooooooo happy with my FHI flat iron and she did confirm that I was on the right track.
Since I was so happy with the customer service at Misikko.com, it made sense for me to turn to them again for the FHI blow dryer.
It might sound naïve of me, but I truly didn’t know there were so many blow dryers to choose from under the same brand!
Misikko had six different types of FHI Hair Dryers and I decided to opt for the Nano Salon Pro 2000 in Onyx Black because of a few key reasons:
1) The FHI Hair Dryer was one of their Top Picks
2) The FHI Hair Dryer came with a concentrator (for straight and sleek hair) + a diffuser (for perfectly managed curled hair styles)
3) The testimonials on the site were very compelling
4) The Nano Technology eliminates frizz
5) The ceramic tourmaline technology seals in moisture and reduces drying time by 50% (aka less damage to your hair!!!)
Talking about the testimonials, I was also considering a T3 Tourmaline Evolution Hair Dryer until I read Anna’s testimonial which completely changed my mind:
“I used to have the T3 Hair dryer and although it did dry my hair faster than a Conair hair dryer, its performance cannot even be compared to that of the FHI Nano Salon Pro 2000 hair dryer.”
I think the best part of the FHI Hair Dryer is the fact that is doesn’t damage your hair, it dries your hair quickly, your hair is so shiny and soft and you still maintain volume!
If you want to work with the elements instead of fighting them, the diffuser allows those of us with naturally curly hair to actually have the kind of beautiful controlled wave that’s full of bounced and softness.
Now, I know that the FHI Onyx Black Hair Dryer – Nano Salon Pro 2000 doesn’t come at bargain basement prices, but this is your hair we’re talking about. I don’t blow dry my hair everyday or else I wouldn’t have any hair left on my head since a chemical relaxer is quite harsh on my hair. That said, I don’t want to skimp on a blow dryer and end up with split ends and damaged hair. It takes so long for damaged hair to grow back healthy and let’s face it hair is really important to us women … so why not have the best looking hair possible.
The FHI Onyx Black Hair Dryer – Nano Salon Pro 2000 will set you back a couple hundred dollars ($215 to be exact), but Misikko.com is offering a discount of 9% (so you only pay $195) + you get free shipping + you get a limited edition gift pack + you get amazing customer service!
I almost forgot to add: On the photo you’ll notice a little blue button on the handle of the FHI Onyx Black Hair Dryer – Nano Salon Pro 2000, that’s the heat control! If you press it in you get hot air, but if you press it out, you get cooler hair and it’s so practical in terms of managing how much hot hair you diffuse on your hair.
You’ll be able to find more details on Misikko’s FHI Onyx Black Hair Dryer – Nano Salon Pro 2000, on the FHI flat iron and on a long list of other best-sellers here: Misikko.com
