Red Carpet Looks by Celebrity Hair Stylist David Babaii
On Monday night at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts Costume Institute Gala, celebrity hair stylist David Babaii had the pleasure of working with Stella McCartney, Liv Tyler, and Kate Hudson to achieve three fantastic red carpet looks.
I was able to get some of these hair styling tips for my readers!
You’ll find below all the hair styling secrets for Stella McCartney, Liv Tyler, and Kate Hudson below:
Kate Hudson To start, I sprayed our David Babaii for WildAid Bohemian Beach Spray and distributed evenly through the hair to create the volume, texture and lift I was looking for.
Next, I used the David Babaii for WildAid Blow Dryer on medium heat and medium air flow. I used my hands instead of a brush so I could create texture. To create her beachy waves I did some soft scrunching and twisting small strands around my fingers until dry. I finished this look with David Babaii for WildAid Mise en Plis Light Styling Spray for a lightweight touchable hold.
Stella McCartney: For this straight shiny look, I prepared her hair with David Babaii for WildAid Hair Polish to achieve a smooth, sleek and ultra shiny finish. Next, I used the David Babaii for WildAid Blow Dryer with a large round brush to create soft curves to the ends. To finish, I sprayed some David Babaii for WildAid Volcanic Ash Root Lift on my fingers to create my new texturizing technique called “bumps”. I created “bump-like” bursts of volume throughout the hair for lift and style variation.
Liv Tyler: To create this Sophia Loren inspired look, I used a large barrel curling iron by FHI Heat. First, I parted her hair to the side using the highest point of the eyebrow as my guide. Then I created 4 sections (top, sides and nape) for total control. Before curling each section, I sprayed David Babaii for WildAid Volcanic Ash Root Lift to each strand then clip each curl. This provided the volume and lift needed for any special event. Next, gently brush curls out using your fingers and allowing curls to fall into a natural pattern. To finish, I sprayed David Babaii for WildAid Mise en Plis Extra Hold Styling Spray that provides not only maximum hold but leaves hair with a brilliant shine.
