Paul McKenna: “I can make you thin” every week on TLC

I first heard of Paul McKenna last summer during a trip to London.
Just like most North Americans, I had never heard of this big British self-made millionaire and self-help guru.
He might not be well known yet in North America, but he’s HUGE in the U.K. In fact, Paul McKenna sold over £3.5million (about $7 million US) of his books … according the Sunday Times (UK) he is Britain’s best selling non-fiction author. McKenna is also one of the highest paid TV personalities in his home land.
Just like British smash-hits “Dancing with the Stars” and “How to Look Good Naked”, Paul McKenna is taking his own British concept to weight loss and weight management and bringing it to the American masses.
On Sunday, March 16, 2008, Paul McKenna will tell you: “I can make you thin”! Yup, from the comfort of your home you’ll be able to assist to his on air body transformations and who knows … you might even be able to apply a few hypnotherapy techniques to help you with your own weight loss challenges.
McKenna, will not be using the same tactics as other diet and self-improvement gurus simply because he has the type of background that might make this show a weekly must-see TV series. You see, along with being a best-selling author and a television personality, Paul McKenna is a British hypnotist.
His bio is quite impressive in the industry of hypnosis and hypnotherapy: McKenna studied hypnosis and neuro-linguistic programming with Richard Bandler (the co-creator of NLP).
Paul McKenna’s expertise is not limited to common folks, he has a roster of Hollywood Celebs on his list of patients … recently he has reportedly helped Ellen DeGeneres quit smoking. Ellen was a long-time smoker who admitted on her show to feeling much healthier since she kicked the nicotine habit (I actually remember watching that show).
So will you be watching Paul McKenna’s “I can make you thin” or do you think that the concept of weight loss through hypnotherapy is as foreign as the planet Pluto?
