I will admit to being VERY skeptical when it comes to this product. I had seen it featured in a Sephora newsletter and I thought it was a bit comical in essence, but I still decided to try it out and see how it looked. Boy, was I ever wrong!
Color On EyeEnvy is a very smart idea and it really only takes about five minutes to apply the little colour pads on both eyelids and before you know it … you’ve got a smokey eye in your favourite shade of colour.

Don’t forget to take advantage of these promotional offerings from Rachael Ray and Martha Stewart
December 17th, 2008

A few months ago, I got wind there were a few promotional companies that were offering free promotional packages for the budding chef in all of us.
I had featured these packages and I’ve noticed that a lot of readers have taken advantage of them so I thought I’d highlight them again.
Now that days are so short and weekends are cold, it might be a great time to try new recipes or just finally learn how to cook!

December 17th, 2008
***I’ve listed the 14 most popular free beauty samples and free makeup samples***
I know it’s been quite a financial ride for so many of us in the last few months. Now that the holidays are here that means more spending on gifts, drinks, get-togethers, party-wear and food.
I’ve been reviewing a lot of free beauty samples since the beginning of the year as I find them for readers.
I’ve noticed that a lot more readers are actually taking advantage of these free samples and a lot of the free trial offers to test some new products before committing to them. In fact, I’ve noticed that just in the month of November four times more readers have taken advantage of these free beauty samples.
I thought it would be a good idea to go back and list your most popular free beauty samples and free makeup samples (just click on blue link and you’ll be able to read the original post and take advantage of the free beauty sample):
1) Recession-proof savings: I found these 25 free gift cards … some are valued at $1000!: In this post I highlight 25 free gift cards from many top American retailers. These are great for gifts or just to treat yourself to something pretty.

My great designer buys on eBay and my misses from J.Crew
December 17th, 2008

Armed with the retailer of choice for First Lady-elect Michelle Obama, I attempted to be more recession-smart and try my hand at shopping online for a few deals.
I hit two major online retailers: eBay and J.Crew. This was my first time buying anything from either retailer and my experience was vastly different from one retailer to the other.
I’m a fairly small dress size, BUT I have long legs, I’m tall, I have a small waist, and I have curves. This makes buying a bit of a nightmare in many cases because it’s quite rare that I can buy something without trying it and I have to try-try-and-try again before finding items that fit because designers cut clothes that fit women who are short and who have the same hip-to-waist ratio.

Kumari’s is having a massive sale on jewellery, pashminas and cashmere sweaters!
December 16th, 2008

***This post will make a lot of sense to anyone living in Toronto***
I know that we’re facing some difficult financial times and a lot of us have less disposable income or we’re simply not shopping as much. That said, I’ve noticed lately some really insane sales where prices are slashed so much, it seems they are giving the merchandise away.
This afternoon, I was at a pastry shop when I noticed a woman with three boxes of shoes. I quickly glance at the bag she was carrying and made my way to that shoe store. Now, I don’t need shoes and I had no intentions on buying shoes, but I do like to look.
The shoe store didn’t have anything to write home about because there is no way I’ll ever be caught walking in four inch heels. As I was making my way to another appointment, I noticed that Kumari’s (one of my favourite stores in city because it’s such a pretty store filled with items you find no where else), on Cumberland in Yorkville, was having a sale.

Have you considered laser resurfacing to get rid of your severe acne scars?
December 16th, 2008
If laser resurfacing was an option for my skin tone, I most likely would have done it a long time ago, but alas given the bad experience I had with laser hair removal, I know that I need to stay as far away from laser … especially on my face.
I’m so grateful to reader Norah that she will gracefully recount her first of many laser resurfacing treatments to deal with scars left behind on her face from teenage acne.
Norah will be documenting her many treatments, but this is the first account of her road to having a face that is free of any scars!

The smart girl’s guide to curing the holiday blues: Loyalty and air miles point programs equal luxury!
December 16th, 2008

I think this post submitted by Shannon, one of our readers, could not have come at a better time. I’d suggest that we all take her advice because I think we really all need to little bit of “R & R” (rest and relaxation) time given the current daily string of bad economical news!
Post submitted by reader Shannon Melnyk
Ah, the Saturday morning paper; a universal symbol of weekend lingering, indulgence and slow, lazy breakfasts. But something is different, have you noticed? My intrigue in the fashion page has waned. I don’t care what Karen Von Hahn has to say, and I find myself rushing through the features to clip coupons. And instead of the crossword puzzle, I mull about in a grim haze trying to see just how many times I can circle the word economy on the front page. I’ll spare you from my most recent findings.
