When did Sammy-Jo turn 47 (her full “Dynasty” name was Samantha Josephine Dean Reece Carrington Fallmont)?
I still remember “Dynasty” like it was yesterday.
Like pretty much anyone old enough to watch TV in the 1980s, it was one of my favourite shows because the couture was so incredible for the time (don’t get me started on the jewellery). Nowadays, a show like Dynasty would have a “parent warning” rating and if I were a kid today, I would not have been able to watch it.
Heather Locklear started her acting career at a very young age - she was 18 when she landed her first roles on “Tales of the Unexpected” and “CHiPs” (God, I was so in love with Erik Estrada).
Since I was never a big fan of “Melrose Place” and I only watched a couple of episodes of “Spin City”, I really only remember Heather Locklear’s TV appearance as the manipulative Sammy Jo. This is why every time I would see her on the red carpet, at Emmy Awards or her L’Oreal Paris “because you’re worth it” hair commercials, I was always amazed about how kind Mother Nature had been to Heather — she never looked like she was aging.
Given that many plastic surgeons I’ve spoken to have admitted that most of the celebrity A-listers have had some type of work done, but the ones who are smart get work that looks very natural, I’d say that if Heather did take advantage of the aging defying properties of Botox Cosmetic® or fillers, she’s done a good job at making sure it looks natural.
I’ve always found that Heather Locklear radiates a sense of happiness and contentment. I’m sorry to read that the reality of her life is different from my perception (i.e.: her recent public divorce and her battle with depression and anxiety), but that doesn’t change the fact that Heather Locklear has managed to spend 20 years on the small and big screen and she looks as good today as she did in the “Dynasty” series.
Heather Locklear is my Beauty Match Celebrity Pick because her 20-year career prove that talent will draw an audience regardless of age and also because she’s been the face of L’Oreal Paris hair for so many years now and although she’s 14 years older than Eva Longoria Parker (L’Oreal’s new face), she’s as stunning and as beautiful … and L’Oreal knows that!
