I’ll admit that I always look forward to featuring Norman Sands on the site because I love his approach to makeup and I mostly love how well he explains makeup tips to women in an attempt to educate them to look their best.
I’ve featured Norman many times in the past and having him explain fall 2009 makeup trends is such a thrill. Just in case you’ve not read Norman’s other features on Beauty Match, I’ll list them at the end of the post, so make sure you read a few of them because they are packed with VERY useful information.
NARS celebrity stylist Norman Sands is no stranger to makeup trends and runway beauty. Having worked behind the scenes at Fashion week, and also having adorned the faces of Leighton Meester, Cyndi Lauper, Elaine Irwin, Chanel Iman and E!s Cat Sadler, Sands knows a thing or two about keeping women glamorous with the latest and greatest that beauty has to offer.
How often do you have a chance to get makeup tips from a Celebrity makeup artist and someone with Norman’s bio? So I do hope you’ll soak up Norman Sands knowledge as much as I do.

* This season it’s all about putting the drama, color and play back into makeup. It’s all about re-visiting the 40’s and the 80’s with a modern twist.
* After creating your smoky eye, add a pop of bright color to the inner lid, outer corner or brow bone. This is the season for liner any way you like.
* From the smoldering eyes of smudged shadow to crisp timeless liquid winged eyes.
* Vintage vamp is back in shades of candy apple red to scarlet and crimson. The top trend that ruled the runways was the flawless face. At NARS we call it The Immaculate Complexion.

Four Step to Perfect Skin:
1) Makeup Primer – to soothe, smooth and create longer lasting natural looking foundation
2) Sheer Matte Foundation/Sheer Glow Foundation apply with fingers to blur imperfections and even out skin tone
3) Concealer- camouflage imperfections and brighten eyes, doubles as an eyeshadow base – applied with fingers
4) Loose Powder- triple milled to set makeup with a light silky texture using the Kabuki Botan Brush to buff to perfection

Great tips! I recently started using primer more regularly and I have to say that I really love how it makes your foundation application go on a lot smoother…
