NARS Cosmetics Exotica: Summer 2008 make-up collection

The summer collection, rightfully called Exotica, is now available and although so many of us on the East Coast are still wearing winter gear, it might be a good idea for you to head to your favourite NARS beauty counter to get your hands on these phenomenal colours before they sell out.

When I saw the NARS Galapagos eye shadow, I gasped. This rich chocolate tone does wonders for my darker complexion and it would look killer on anyone who has blue eyes.

Don’t even get me started on NARS’ lip colours from their Exotica collection. The shades of cherry, brandy, dusty rose and pale pink are perfect-perfect-perfect for summer and they are ideal for women over 35. My personal favourite is NARS Mindgame lipstick that the perfect shade of brandy … it’s subtle, but very luscious. One thing to mention about NARS lipsticks compared to many that I’ve tried is the fact that are very hydrating and they last for a long time on your lips.

You also must mix-and-match. A lot of these lipstick and lip gloss shades look incredible on their own, but they take a whole new dimension when you mix them together.

One distinctive trend with the Exotica collection is that a lot of the shades are fairly neutral and you can really play with the colours at your leisure … you can play up your make-up for a more dramatic look or use the same exact shades, but toned them down for a more casual affair or for day time wear.
