Makeup at $1 might be the best way to beat this tight economy!

I first talked about e.l.f. (eyes, lips, face) Cosmetics one year ago because I thought it was a great gift ideas for stocking stuffers. At only $1 USD per item (yes, I do mean $1 lipgloss, $1 eye shadow, $1 eye liner, $1 blush, $1 nail polish and the list goes on) it was a great way to have fun with makeup without worrying about making a dent in your beauty budget.
What a difference a year makes. And that’s why I thought I should highlight e.l.f. Cosmetics again because times have changed and more people are far more concerned about controlling how much they spend on gifts for Holiday 2008! Another reason why I thought I should highlight e.l.f. Cosmetics again is because so many new readers might not have heard of the brand.
Before going into too many details, I should point out that e.l.f. Cosmetics is an American company, but they will ship their $1 makeup to Canada, the U.K. and Australia (Brits and Aussies can access the country-specific Web sites for their purchases)!
e.l.f. Cosmetics have been featured in every possible fashion magazine including Queen Oprah’s O Magazine. It’s almost impossible not to take note of this make-up company.
I did try the product and I was very surprised by the results. Since I usually buy more expensive lines such as YSL Beaute (Yves Saint Laurent), Nars Cosmetics, MAC Cosmetics and Bobbi Brown, I really didn’t know what the colours would look like.
I have to say that the makeup I tried looked good and it exceeded my expectations.

I would not replace my current make-up with e.l.f. Cosmetics, but this is a great option for those colours and trends that are in fashion, but I might not feel inclined to spend big bucks for a colour that I will wear for only a few months.
e.l.f. Cosmetics also make fun gifts for any teenager on your list.
Another great thing about this cosmetic brand is the fact that they have a lot of great gift sets at really affordable prices. You can expect to pay as little as $100 for the e.l.f. Master Set where you get over 100 e.l.f. cosmetics products! This is the kind of set that can really stretch your beauty-gift-giving-budget for the holidays.
Insider’s tip: Make sure to visit their “get the look” page (you’ll find it at the top of the page) because you can see a number of looks they’ve created along with the colours they used. This will make your purchase decisions that much easier.
