Keeping and using makeup for too long can cause numerous eye and skin infections. Yuck! My Beauty Match Insider tips for when to discard: Mascara should be thrown out after 3months, eye shadow if powder can last up to 2 years, but cream based about 4 months. Using eye products for too long or sharing with a friend can cause irritation and eye infections both bacterial and viral. Lipstick/gloss can last up to 1 year unless it has an applicator brush and then maybe 4 months. Foundations can last up to 2 years but make sure to wash brushes every week and change sponges ever week as to not get bacteria on your face!
