It’s time to detox your body and your skin!

I’m a firm believer in detoxification because it’s something I do on a regular basis and it’s also something I feel to be essential in ensuring that my body works at it’s best and that my skin glows radiantly. A few years ago, I did a 15-day juice fast and my skin had never looked that good and my body was functioning perfectly. Just to be clear, during those two weeks, I didn’t eat any solid foods and only had vegetable juices, fruit juices, herbal teas and water. The first few days of not eating felt like cruelty and I often dreamt about food at night. By the end of week one, my body and mind had gotten used to the fact that I would not be eating food.
A juice fast or any detox plan should ALWAYS be done in consultation with your doctor or naturopath because you are “deep” cleansing your body and your system will react to the toxin elimination process.
When it comes to getting a professional opinion on detox … there are two camps: medical/health experts who feel it’s essential and medical/health professionals who feel it’s a complete waste of time. Those in favour feel that we are bombarded with toxins that are stored in our liver and our cells and we need to proactively rid our bodies of them. Those against detox, feel that the body is a perfectly oiled machine capable of releasing harmful toxins without external help.
I’m no medical/health expert, but given that we are far more exposed to environmental pollutants now than at any time in history, it’s impossible not to be negatively affected. I prefer taking a proactive approach to ridding my body of these chemicals and pollutants.
Now, given my super-busy schedule these past few years, I’m not had the time to do a juice fast (you cannot function at full capacity when you do a juice fast). Instead, I’ve relied on detox pills that usually cleanse my body over a three-week period. These work very well indeed, but again, given the level of exposure to free radicals, I felt that more frequent detox programs were needed.
I’ve recently come across a number of products that easily offer the possibility of doing more frequent detox programs:

Detoxification is one of the best ways of ensuring that your skin remains as youthful as possible for as long as possible. Another great benefit of detoxification is the fact that your body will release toxins … which accelerates fat loss.
