I hate my summer acne

Summer is such a glorious season. Since I’m a summer baby, I have a soft spot for a season that allows me to go about town without a heavy coat and boots.
Summer is about slowing down and taking in the glory that is Mother Nature. I L-O-V-E everything about summer expect my summer acne.
I call it summer acne, but it’s a bit more complicated than that.
During the summer everyone perspires more than they would during the rest of the year. In my case, I perspire even more when I step into a spinning room that will get hot and steamy from 20+ bodies cycling like mad.
This combination of body heat and steamy room causes my skin to break out and I’m not talking about my face. During the summer I find myself with acne on my lower arms (which I HATE).
This is in fact a common problem and a lot of people experience summer acne on their chest, back and even buttocks!
It might be tempting to try to squeeze these body “pimples”, but you shouldn’t. Instead, you should consider using a glycolic peel or better yet visit your dermatologist. A number of medical spas offer peels that can not only clear your skin but also clear out acne scars.
In my case, I usually extend my acne cream on different parts of my body during the summer months.
Keep reading because in a few months, I will consult a cosmetic dermatologist for some help with scars left behind by my summer acne.
