I found the BEST flat iron (period)!

fhi flat ironIt’s that time of the year where the humidity index is so high that it makes taming your locks a full time job.

I decided this year that I would not be walking about with frizzy hair and set myself to find a good flat iron.

Since I knew little about flat irons, I asked my hairdresser for some advice. I told her that I was considering a Chi flat iron, but she told me that the best option would be to consider a FHI flat iron instead because of a number of reasons.

My hairdresser explained that the plates on the FHI flat iron had a longer lifespan and the coating would not rub off on my hair in the long run.

She also explained most professional hairstylists also use the FHI flat irons because they give the hair an incredible finish and shine.

I was quite pleased with the feedback my hairdresser provided, but I was less than pleased when she dropped the price bomb on me. I would be looking at forking out $180-$220 for a FHI Platform Professional 1 Inch Flat Iron with Nano Technology (for home use). As if she had read my mind, my hairdresser confirmed that the prices would not be much cheaper if I crossed to border to the U.S. to get the flat iron.

I decided to head to my trusty PC to see what might come up. I landed on Misikko.com. Once I read the testimonials from other satisfied clients who had purchased the FHI flat iron, I was feeling pretty confident about my decision.

What caught my attention the most about this flat iron was not so much the features, but the fact that is was highly effective at dealing with dry, coarse, and damaged hair because the negative ions help neutralize the positive ions found on damaged hair, allowing the hair to lay flatter and smoother.

There are really a lot of advantages at choosing a FHI flat iron. The FHI flat iron uses large ceramic heaters, tourmaline and ion-boosting minerals for salon quality results. The technical description can be quite a bore, but I did find this sentence here to be particularly important: “Ceramic Plates (3 Baked Layers) - maximum infrared heat that penetrates the hair shaft and straightens the hair from the inside. This is a less damaging type of heat compared to infrared heat. Seals in Natural moisture and eliminates frizz. The moisturizing elements of Titanium Oxide and Silver will leave your hair healthier, shiner, and more vibrant”.

I mean the reason why most of us use a flat iron on our hair is to have hair that looks healthy and bouncy, not fried and damaged … so it makes perfect sense to buy a flat iron that won’t severely damage your hair in the long run.

In the end I did get my FHI Platform Professional 1 Inch Flat Iron with Nano Technology from Misikko.com because their price was among the lowest I found ($119.99 versus $195 or higher). I also like having access to a “real person” on the other end of the phone line. It’s really comforting to be able to ask questions and make sure that you are actually buying the right product for your needs.

Misikko.com not only sells FHI flat irons, but you’ll also find 17 or so other brands. You’ll also find hairdryers (they even have FHI hairdryers) and loads of other beauty and hair care products.

If you are looking to have humidity-resistant hair this summer, FHI flat iron will surely have the perfect hair tool for your needs!

Thats a good article about FHI as well as CHI. But I am worried these are too costly..I understand good quality products are costly. But really wish if there is a place where I can compare the price and quality.

Hi. Thanks for the helpful information. I followed the link in the article to the Misikko website and the price has jumped to $195! Any other sites you could recommend that may sell the FHI flat irons for less? Thanks.

    Erika,

The only site that I know and have dealt with is MyHairStylingTools.com and after checking their site, I can see that the FHI flat iron is normally $299 on their site and reduced to $195. I guess when I reviewed this, the prices were really different.

Right now, I don’t know of any other site, but if we hear of anything, we’ll update all readers!

Here’s the link if you want to see the FHI on the MyHairStylingTools.com’s web site:

I totally agree with the price range of branded flat iron especially FHI, GHD but there are cheaper ones available. I bought one from FlatIronExperts.com works really good for the past 2 years.
