How do you find beauty and anti-aging products when you don’t live in North America or Europe?

I’m quite tickled pink to find out that I have readers as far as India, Guatemala, South Africa, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Malaysia, Guam, Philippines, Japan, Russia, Indonesia, Taiwan and Hong Kong! I of course have many readers in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., France, Germany, Belgium, Ireland and so many other European countries and I’m always delighted to hear from all of my readers.
I first would like to say thank you to all these international readers who read Beauty Match and who receive our weekly Beauty Match Insider (if you are new to this site, don’t forget you can sign-up to receive weekly updates right in your inbox – we don’t spam and we don’t sell our readers’ contact information).
I’ve been reading all of the comments and emails sent to us by international readers living outside of North America and Europe and it seems to be quite difficult for a lot of you ladies to find some of the brands we feature on Beauty Match or some of the brands you find on other sites you read.
Here’s an email I recently received from a Central American reader:
I would like to thank you for this site … I love it!!! I would like to request something if it is possible.
I’m from Guatemala, Central America, and many of the products that you review or that appear in your website … are not available for us in Guatemala. Do you think it would be possible for you to give information for us, who are outside the U.S.A. about how we can get them … I would appreciate your help!!!
Many of you wonder how do they get these products. I have to say that it will be more difficult for some countries to get distribution of certain beauty, anti-aging and skincare products because of a number of reasons that are often linked to profitability. If a cosmetic company doesn’t think it will have a big enough market for its product in a specific country or if the cost of entry in certain markets is so high that it will eat up a large chunk of their profits, it might not venture at all. That might be a sound business decision for the cosmetic company, but it leaves a number of women scrambling to find brands they’d love to try.
My best advice to all the readers living outside of North America and Europe is the following:
* You can buy a lot of the products online. I try to always link back to either the cosmetic company or an online store where you can order the products and have them delivered to your home or office in your own country.
* You can always get in touch with the cosmetic company of your choice via the contact page on their site. They will be better equipped to let you know if they sell their brands in your country.
* Don’t forget that a lot of spas and small beauty boutiques carry products that are not available in large department stores, so you’ll want to try them as well.
* Many international readers travel or they know someone who travels frequently. You might want to give your wish list of beauty products to anyone close to you who’s willing to make a small detour during their next visit to North America or Europe. A lot of people do that. My friend Natasha travels quite a lot and when I’m in need of certain products from America or the U.K., I simply place an “order” with her and she brings it back.
It’s true that countries like the U.S. (any big city), the U.K. (London), Canada (Toronto) and France (Paris) will carry 99.9 per cent of the major and smaller brands, but for those of us living outside of these huge beauty Meccas it’s still possible to get our hands on beauty, skincare, and anti-aging products we want to buy … it might take a bit more leg work … but it’s possible.
I will make it my mission to highlight as many points of sales as I possibly can to make it easier for you to find the beauty products you are looking to try or buy.
In closing, I want to thank all my readers and don’t forget that you can leave us a comment at the end of each post or send us an email with your beauty questions!
