Have you heard, Dolce & Gabbana Launches a New Cosmetics Collection?

February is a perfect month to launch a new cosmetic line and that’s exactly what Italian designers Dolce & Gabbana have done.
They are joining the ranks of most top designers and they are branching out their brand in the cosmetic and beauty arena.
The collection was a collaboration with top international makeup artist and International Creative Director for P & G Beauty, Pat McGrath!
During a recent interview co-creator Stefano Gabbana had this to say about this new venture:
“We see makeup as another thing for women, like a dress. We worked on the makeup line like we work on a clothing collection – you can change makeup like you can change your clothes, depending on your mood”.
The packaging will be gold just like YSL Beauty! The shades will expectedly be bold and bright.
And I found out that the lipsticks are scented with a hint of rose … which takes “kissable lips to a whole different dimension”. While the D & G lips will be rose scented, their mascara will have a peppery note.
When questioned about this bold move, Stefano had this to say:
“For me, lipstick is one of the most important things. When I see a woman made-up, I look straight to the lips. We wanted to create makeup with a scent. Domenico and I remember when we were children and opened our mother’s handbags – the scent of her lipstick trailed out. I observed that when women open makeup, they smell it first.”
As you can see from the advert, they’ve chosen the newly married and newly brunette (again) Scarlett Johansson!
You’ll find the Dolce & Gabbana cosmetic collection in most high end department stores!
I’m not going to lie. Since this is Dolce & Gabbana cosmetic collection, expect the prices to be part of your beauty luxury budget!
