Hair style ideas from Nexxus

While working on the March contest, I found a file of photos I had taken from an event with Nexxus hair care. This event happened a few months ago, but the photos and hair style ideas are still quite relevant so I decide to still feature them on the site.

All these styles have been created by Tony Masciangelo, professional stylist for Nexxus.

I’ll take you through the different models and what Tony Masciangelo created.

1) Asian model: Tony Masciangelo applied a number of hair styling products from Nexxus and he set the model’s hair in rollers to give her definition and body. The shocking thing was that he actually added a hair piece in the back of the model’s hair to give her maximum fullness at the back. I tried taking a photo from the side, and unfortunately the photo is a bit fuzzy, but you can still see the volume from the side. Had I not been standing in the front row I would never have known that model had any extensions on. That proof that when extensions are well set … they look totally natural! If you look at the difference between photo #5 and #6 you’ll see that the model has longer and fuller hair. The extension was wrapped at the back of her head. It was one of those à la Jessica Simpson/Ken Paves HairDo^TM type hair extension clips.

2) Blonde up do model: I didn’t end up taking as many photos of the blonde up do à la Audrey Hepburn, and the front shot is not perfect, but it will give you an idea of what the hairstyle looks like. Actually, this looks quite close to the hair style Robert Vetica created for Marion Cotillard for the 2009 Oscar Awards.

3) Red-haired model: This might be the most glamorous look Tony Masciangelo created for that evening. The model had a really beautiful hair colour and it was quite striking with her green eyes and red-red lips. Tony set the model’s hair in rollers and really maintained the curl to give it that old-Hollywood à la Rita Hayworth.   He added a sparkle-studded hair piece to the right side of the model’s head to really finish the look.

4) Big bold haired model: This model has a natural wave to her hair, but by setting the hair in rollers Tony was able to better control the quality of the curl. I love this look it’s fresh and sassy. It’s also a great look for so many women who might be fighting with their naturally wavy hair and who are looking for a change.

5) Ultra chignon model: This is obviously a hair extension chignon that has been added. This is most likely not going to suit everyone and it won’t suit every occasion, but if you want to go glam and ultra chic … this is a fun look. I’d have to say that most of the other style might suit women of any age, this look might look at bit severe on older women. I personally would keep it to 20-something and 30-something women.
