Yves Saint Laurent Parisienne perfume review

I’ve been wearing the same perfume for so many years I’ve lost count.
Amarige by Givenchy has been my scent of choice since it launched because it’s one of the rare perfumes I’m not severely allergic to.
Every article of clothing I owe is embedded with the scent. I have to say that I absolutely love the scent and it’s become like a part of own natural scent because I’ve been wearing it for so long.
That said, just like make-up, clothes, shoes, nail polish and accessories, a girl needs a change once in a while and for me change usually means “massive headaches”. It’s not easy to be allergic to smells and this has made my quest to find a new scent a challenge.
Every time there is a new perfume launch, I usually run to the store and ask for a sample because if I spray it on and I’m allergic to the scent, I will get an instant headache and I have to deal with the bad scent embedding my clothing.
When I saw the sleek and sexy bottle of Yves Saint Laurent’s Parisienne, I quickly dismissed it as another perfume I’d end up trying and not be able to wear.

Susan Boyle’s makeover is big news
Can you imagine that the post I wrote last week (24 hours BEFORE the official photos of Susan Boyle’s makeover photos were made public) caused a reader to leave a rude comment and use vulgar words … you know the F-word, the B-word and I was even wondering if he or she was going to pull a Perez Hilton.
You can imagine that I was less than impress with the comment and deleted it.
That said, it’s interesting to see how people are reacting to this middle aged woman who is now (FINALLY) focusing a bit more attention to the way she looks.
There are two schools of thought when it comes to Susan Boyle: 1) those who feel that talent should come in any “packaging” and 2) those who think that her talent would be showcased even better with a bit of a refreshed look.

Susan Boyle (Britain’s Got Talent) Makeover
So you’ve most likely seen the video or heard about Susan Boyle on late night comedy shows or on CNN … they just won’t stop featuring her and many anchors have admitted to weeping during her performance in front of the three judges (Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden) of “Britain’s Got Talent.” Now, I don’t think that I was moved to tears when I saw Susan Boyle’s performance, but I was as amazed as everyone else.
The 47-year-old unemployed women from West Lothian (Scotland) has become an overnight sensation and her life is soon to be an open book to the world (I hope she’s ready for the bumpy ride).
I think the reason why some many people (100 million downloads on You Tube and counting) are so fascinated by Susan Boyle is because she doesn’t “look” like your typical songstress. She’s like the underdog that everyone dismissed and now she’s come on top in her late 40s!!!
That said, if she is to win the competition on “Britain’s Got Talent” 2009 she’s going to have to step up her fashion and beauty game or else she’ll be fed to the (media and blogging community) wolves.

Did you know Jane Fonda has a blog and she Twitters?
During another late night while I was posting content to the site, I was once again watching an episode of “The View” I was just about to change the channel when they announced that Jane Fonda was a guest.
I HAD to watch the segment because I think Jane Fonda is so smashingly beautiful and she’s aging well (yes, I do know she had a facelift, but it looks natural and it’s not scaring small children).
Another thing I noticed about Jane Fonda was how fit she still was.
Do you remember those days when she used to be an aerobic queen? Well it’s obvious those workouts paid off because today at 71 (born December 21, 1937) she’s still as fit as ever!

I’ve been profiled in Australia’s Bare Essentials Magazine!!!
I was so pleased when the editor-in-chief and publisher of Bare Essentials magazine asked me to write a feature in their next edition.
I’ll admit that I was humbled and a bit intimidated all at once.
You see Bare Essentials is a magazine for Australian women who are NOT afraid of taking their workout to the very next level.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I can hold my own when it comes to fitness and training, but everything about this magazine screamed high performance and I wanted to make sure I was up to the challenge to deliver material that these ladies from down under would like!

I’m featured on Chick Advisor ChickChat TV
A few months ago my friend and fellow beauty blogger Ali from Chick Advisor asked me to participate in one of her ChickChat TV Shows and I accepted!
This is actually a very interesting segment because the question is: “would you take back a cheater” … listen to my answer when I was asked the question.
I’m the one wearing a pink top!

For the love of God, do we really need a $75 eyeliner?
No seriously, who needs a $75 USD eyeliner in this economy?
I sincerely thought that the first time I heard about Serge Lutens’ “Fard” Kohl eyeliner that the price was $7.50, but surely not $75. I thought there might have been a typo, but no … the eyeliner actually cost a staggering $75!!!
Serge Lutens is well known for his luxury fragrances and he’s now venturing out in the luxury makeup market at a time where most women are recycling what they already have in their makeup case.
