I’ve documented my quest for the perfect mineral make-up in the past and I’ve revealed that despite having tried pretty much every single brand on the market, I had yet to find one that had the right shade for me.
You can read my review of Prescriptives Mineral Make-up here (this really didn’t work for me in terms of colour, but my friend Natasha has switched to a lighter formula of make-up and I suggested Prescriptive and she loves their mineral make-up … she cannot believe how light it is … yet it offers the perfect amount of coverage): Mineral Make-up is NOT for me!
Mineral make-up either ends up looking ashy or looking like I’m glowing red … it’s just never looks natural. I pretty much had given up until Eleni, one of my product reviewers suggested Pür Minerals.
Here’s what Eleni had to say:

Review submitted by our product reviewer Eleni
I checked out this product recently and immediately noticed that it felt light and the colour was a natural, believable shade of sunny sand (I tried #430 in Shimmering Sand).
This loose mineral powder can be used all over or just as a natural-looking blush on the apples of the cheeks.
You’ll never get great results by using the puff/applicator that comes with any product, so please forego that and always use a good brush - it does make a difference.

Say bye-bye to dark circles … that’s what I did when I discovered Laura Mercier’s Secret Brightener Pen.
I get to try so many different brands of skincare and make-up and most of them are good, but every now and then there is a product that really stands out that you just have to tell all of your girlfriends.
Laura Mercier’s Secret Brightener Pen is a great little makeup trick that you can quickly and easily use to instantly open the eye area and brighten your entire face. On top of all of that, this magic pen will also give you that smooth and youthful appearance because it reflects light away from darkness while boosting radiance.
Mineral Makeup is NOT for me!
Mineral makeup is all the rage. You cannot turn on the telly without seeing an ad with B-list celebrities promoting a new brand of mineral makeup.
For months now, I’ve wanted to try mineral makeup, but every single time I run to a cosmetic counter to try this new wonder makeup I’m always told the same thing: “I’m sorry, but we don’t have your shade”.
Some companies have shades that will only suit very fair skins and when companies do have darker shades, they are either too red or too ashy.

Summer is synonymous with so many great things and it’s also synonymous with a few things that are not so great.
In the world of beauty, I’d say that facial sweat in the middle of a heat wave (and I’m not talking about menopause) might be what I would qualify as not being all that pleasant.
Since most of us gals love our makeup … wearing it during summer months might make things a bit complicated and sweaty.

I was invited not long ago to a makeup session with Pink Beauty for their summer collection Pink in the Nude. The event was appropriately held at a local restaurant also called Nyood (pronounced nude).
You don’t have to twist my arm to spend an afternoon eating delicious appetizers, sipping on a delicious cocktail (appropriately called Pink Beauty) and talking about makeup.
April Jacob, founder and creator of Pink Beauty, presented two distinct looks that were both very soft and very flattering.
Tricia Sawyer Skin Balancing Water Primer
A few months ago, I talked in length about some of the most popular primers on the market.
It took me a while to warm to idea of using a primer, but once I discovered what they did for your makeup … I was hooked.
Primers act as a barrier between your skin and the foundation.
Even if you don’t wear foundation and only wear some pressed power, you will also benefit by using a primer because not only are you creating a shield to protect your skin, you are also hiding fine lines.
