Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick

Maybelline-Color-Sensational _model

Feature by our Editorial Assistant Colleen

Maybelline’s all about your lips and colouring them with their newest collection, Colour Sensational Lipstick. You are more than likely to find a shade you’ll like because there are 48 shades to choose from!

The colours are grouped in four categories: your pinks, plums, reds and naturals.

I was quite interested in the different shades in the reds family like Sweet Nectar and the Park Ave. Peach because they both have an orange tint to it that I really like (It works well against my pale complexion). The Pink Me Up stick in the pink family is also a great bright and bold colour that really caught my eye.

Lancôme Rouge La Base to replenish dry lips

Lancome-Rouge-la-base-kate-winslet

By our Editorial Assistant Colleen

The other product that Lancôme has that’s a treat for the lips is the L’Absolu Rouge La Base.

This is the ideal product for those of you with really dry or cracked lips. It looks a little weird at first. It’s a competely white-coloured lipstick but don’t let that stop you from trying it. The moisturizing power from this lip product will leave you with luscious and soft lips. It’s also got SPF 10 to protect you!

Review: MS Skintechnical Lip Seduction

Review submitted by our product reviewer Eleni

Let’s face it, luscious, full lips are sexy and youthful-looking. It’s a lovely look to go for whether by make-up or collagen injection.

Don’t get me wrong, I would never advocate for those giant, overblown, over-the-top collagen injected lips. We’ve seen more than enough of that on TV and even around town.

Did you know that many plastic surgeons, when confronted with questions on why we are seeing this less-than-attractive look so often claim that they inject the amount of collagen they do at the insistence of the patient who wants to get her money’s worth? Ladies, that’s reason enough to get in touch with one of our favourite words … SUBTLE.

I recently tested a product called Lip Seduction, which is designed to plump up the lips. It goes on like lip gloss but is designed to exfoliate the dead skin cells, increase the volume of lips and  hydrate as it reduces the appearance of furrows and fine lines. Vitamin E protects the lips from free radical damage and leaves them feeling soft and supple.

Lip Seduction claims to be the most advanced lip treatment available to create beautiful seductive lips. It promises to hydrate, stimulate and regenerate the lips’ collagen building process.

The glosses come in a variety of fun colours such as Panting Pink (a soft, glossy, naked pink) and Guava Sexy (a metallic, tropical red).
Key ingredients include niacin, retinol, camphor, tocopherol (vitamin E), and titanium dioxide.

Clarins Instant Gloss reacts on contact to create your own unique lip colour!

Feature by Assistant Editor Colleen

Hmm … I’ve got some more lippy goodness news coming your way. Imagine my delight when I heard that Clarins has created an Instant Gloss that transforms into my very own lip colour! I was ecstatic. As I’ve mentioned in my last review of MAC Cosmetics Creme Team Lipstick … I am a big fan of lip glosses.

What’s behind the concept?

Well it all depends on your very own lips and how it reacts to this product:

* The gloss itself is completely translucent when you open it.

* You apply it to your lips and it looks like a clear shade but soon another colour will emerge transforming it into your very own customized shade.

MAC Cosmetics Launches Well-Defined Foundation and Creme Team lipstick!

Feature submitted by our Assistant Editor Colleen

As a proud owner of one of the MAC Comestics Lustreglass series, Instant Gold to be exact, I definitely have my eye on MAC’s newest collection of lip glosses, the Cremesheen Lipglass line (come to me Partial Pink!). I have always been a loyal fan of the lip glosses that MAC offers and I have no doubt that Cremesheen will be just as great.

The latest lipstick formulation by the MAC team is supposed to be even moister than their previous line with promises of leaving a sheer finish. There are a total of 8 different shades to choose from, most of which fall within the purple-pink colour categories. Luckily, I’ll be able to treat myself to one of them as a birthday present (today! Feb 7)!

The Cremesheen Lipglass series will be available now until the end of March so if you’re a lip gloss fan like me, it might be a good time to snatch up some now, otherwise you just won’t get the chance.

CoverGirl launches Outlast Lipstain … a lip stain that will actually last!

Pat McGrath, CoverGirl Global Creative Design Director, is at it again! She’s creating another great collection of must-haves colours for the New Year.

As so many of us are taking a second look at our health, weight and beauty regime, January could not be a better month to launch a whole new collection of lipstains!

Lipstains have been used as a secret weapon for many celebrity makeup artists to give their A-list clients sexy lips with colour that last the entire course of any red carpet event, but now thanks to Pat McGrath the everyday woman can also use this makeup artist trick to create beautiful lips.

Lip plumpers will add volume to your lips without a visit to your cosmetic doctor!

One of the most popular trends in makeup lately has been more voluminous lips. We’re all too accustomed to seeing a number of slim-lipped Hollywood celebrities turn up all of a sudden on the red carpet with much fuller lips than they have in the past.

I personally blame the gorgeous Angelina Jolie for this phenomenon … because before she became a huge celeb very few women were dreaming of having fuller lips.

In fact, every single time I interview a cosmetic doctor and ask which celebrities patients aspire to look like, Angie’s lips are always at the top of the list.

If you are looking for more permanent results when it comes to fuller lips, you’ll have to consider lip implants or collagen lip injections.

Which are my latest favourite makeup finds?

Wow! I feel so spoiled by the fall 2008 colour palettes.

I’ve been playing around with so many incredible shades that I absolutely love and up to now I’ve not been disappointed at all.

I’ve been wearing makeup for a while and I spend a lot of time looking and playing with makeup all the time so when I try a new shade and I’m taken aback by how incredible it looks … I like to share it!

I’m quite partial to purple and I’ve been wearing it for years because I find that the contrast of brown eyes and purple eye shadow is quite powerful.

Purple is THE colour for the new season, but most makeup companies have always had a number of purple shades in their standard collections. That said, this year, YSL (Yves Saint Laurent) Beauty has two new palettes that left me gasping for air.

When I finally came around to trying them … I was NOT disappointed.

If you are new to this site, then you might not know my long lasting relationship with YSL Beauty … I’ve been wearing the makeup line since I was 16 (old enough to start wearing makeup). In a sea of black containers, YSL Beauty has always and continues to stand out with their blingged-out gold packaging.

Indeed, a girl doesn’t buy makeup for the packaging alone, which is why YSL Beauty is so fantastic because the packaging is quite attractive, but the colours are rich and beautiful. Yup, they will set you back a little further in your beauty budget compared to other lines, but this is one of those little splurges that make you feel so girly.
