Ladies, if Halle Berry is not proof that aging well is damn sexy … I don’t know who is?
I must thank my good friend Natasha for keeping me on top of this one, although the message got caught in my spam box.
I toyed with the idea of not featuring this since the whole world must have heard by now, but I L-O-V-E Halle and I think (from the outside looking in) she’s got the perfect life so I could not resist … I just HAD to feature this incredibly gorgeous 40-something.
Esquire magazine has never made a huge impression on me in the past, but this honour they presented to Halle makes me look at this men’s publication in a whole new light.

My list of 15 hottest musicians over 40!
A few months ago, I wrote a post of female rockers from the 80s who were now in their 40s, 50s, 60s and who were still doing what they loved most doing in life. These fearless women didn’t let age, milestones or album sales stop them from pursuing their passions.
I always try to highlight these types of stories because it’s so easy to believe that after a certain age, there is no point in pursuing dreams because our best years are behind us (so not true).

Ellen DeGeneres is the new face of CoverGirl at 50!
I’m terribly sorry for being a few days late on this monumental news, but the month of September has turned out to be one of the busiest and most hectic months on record.
I’m not complaining, because it’s all positive stuff, but it also means that I’ve not been able to post this last week as I had planned to do … as they say better late than never.
If you’ve not yet heard, Procter & Gamble has signed daytime TV host and Emmy-award winner Ellen DeGeneres to become the new face of CoverGirl makeup (her campaigns will be seen as of January 2009).
All week, Ellen’s guests have congratulating her on this major accomplishment. I personally LOVED when Benjamin Bratt (star one of my new favourite series called “The Cleaner”) said to Ellen: “You know what? You’ve got CoverGirl eyes” … I equally liked the way Ellen blushed!

Carla Bruni: Former model, singer, first lady of France and she’s catching everyone’s attention
I’ve known of Carla Bruni for a few decades now. She started her modelling career around the same time as Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Elle Macpherson, Linda Evangelista and Claudia Schiffer. Carla Bruni never ended being as big of a model as the others, but she was well known internationally and she was well known in her adopted city of Paris (she’s born in, Turin Italy, but is naturalized French).
Although she never became a “supermodel”, Carla Bruni still managed to have an illustrious modelling career and was among the highest paid models in the industry. That said, Carla might be better known for her string of lovers than for her modelling career. It’s been reported that she’s dated men like Mick Jagger, Donald Trump and Eric Clapton.
Stephanie Seymour is still modelling lingerie at 40!
Stephanie Seymour is part of the elite group of supermodels of the 1990s. That said, until recently Stephanie might be more remembered for her rocky and tumultuous relationship with Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose.
Her relationship with Axl Rose has even trumped her nude appearance on the pages of Playboy! If you ask a few people around you, I bet a lot of people would not associate Seymour and Playboy.
Stephanie might have started her modelling career at 15, but she’ll certainly be remembered for being the ex-supermodel who became the body for Chantelle Paris lingerie. Today, at 40 this mother of four is still showing parts many women half her age would not dare show.

Padma Lakshmi is smoking hot at 38
Padma Lakshmi might be known as Mrs. Salman Rushdie (she was married to the author between 2004 and 2007), but this cookbook author, actress, cooking reality TV judge (Top Chef) and former model is far more complex that just arm candy.
Padma is one of those women who simply stops traffic because she’s tall, exotic looking, beautiful, well mannered and incredibly stylish and chic. No wonder this former model walked the catwalk for some of the top designers: Alberta Ferretti, Emanuel Ungaro and Ralph Lauren. She’s also done ad campaigns for Versus and Roberto Cavalli; and she’s appeared on numerous magazine covers.
In a world where imperfection is seen as evil, Padma proudly displays her scar left behind by a tragic accident at the age of 14. She has a seven-inch scar on her right arm that is very to conceal or hide.

Cindy Margolis graces the cover of Playboy magazine at 42!
I was watching one of those late night entertainment shows I like so much when Cindy Margolis was featured as the July 2008 cover for Playboy magazine at 42 (she’ll be 43 in October)!
Now, this is not Cindy’s first Playboy cover. She also graced the magazine a few years ago at 41 in 2007 (Playboy’s Sexy 100) and in December 2006 just after turning!
I have to say that I was slightly puzzled by this triple win in her 40s because I had no idea Playboy was actually interested in women past the age of 28!

OMG (Oh my God!) Heather Locklear is 47!!!
When did Sammy-Jo turn 47 (her full “Dynasty” name was Samantha Josephine Dean Reece Carrington Fallmont)?
I still remember “Dynasty” like it was yesterday.
Like pretty much anyone old enough to watch TV in the 1980s, it was one of my favourite shows because the couture was so incredible for the time (don’t get me started on the jewellery). Nowadays, a show like Dynasty would have a “parent warning” rating and if I were a kid today, I would not have been able to watch it.
