This fall you’ll notice the colour are more intense for fall 2009 makeup trends. I’ve noticed that many of the cosmetic lines are showing darker eyes and red lips. In some cases, we’ve seen the dramatic lips and the dramatic eyes paired together and in other cases models have been sporting dramatic eyes with nude lips and nude cheeks.
As usual, I’ve created a trend sheet so that you can have all the major make-up brands and the make-up trends in one easy and convenient spot!
I think for women in their 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s, you’re going to have to play it by ear and I’d recommend you consults a makeup artist because dark lips and dark eyes might not look flattering. You might have to bring down the intensity on the eyes and play it off a medium dark lip.

Jessica Lange is 60!
I was watching Ellen DeGeneres a few weeks ago when she had invited Jessica Lange to her show.
I was taken aback when Ellen said that Jessica Lange was 60 (born April 20, 1949)! She looks absolutely radiant and I might have pegged her to be a 50-something, but surely not more than 55.
The only reason I would have given Jessica 50-something is because she’s been acting for so long, I figured she would be up there in age, but she’s obviously been taking good care of her skin because she still looks incredible.

Ines de la Fressange is the ambassador of Roger Vivier
I remember buying a pair of high heel blue suede Roger Vivier shoes in Paris way back in the 1990s because a Parisian friend of mine had told me those were “THE” shoes to have at the time. I’ve always been a fan of their flats and I quite like that bold buckle on their current flats!
Lately, the Roger Vivier brand has been lagging and it surely was not one of those French brands to enjoyed the shoe-euphoria of counterpart Christian Louboutin.

I cannot believe Ines de la Fressange is 52!
I truly have to say this news stopped me dead in my tracks.
I’ve known Ines de la Fressange for a few decades now because I’ve always admired the easy with which she made her way down the catwalk when she used to be Karl Lagerfeld’s muse for Chanel.
Ines, is one of those French women you love to hate because she’s so thin and so pretty and so charming. Everything about her is incredibly effortless and at the same time it’s so stylish.

Michelle Pfeiffer looking flawless at 50!
When Elle France features you and declares “La cinquantaine rayonnante de Michelle Pfeiffer” (Michelle Pfeiffer is dazzling in her 50s), I take note!
I couldn’t agree with Elle France more, Michelle Pfeiffer does look incredible in her 50s, but the thing is Michelle Pfeiffer has never not looked good. I mean, she was born beautiful and she remains beautiful to this day.
If Michelle Pfeiffer indulges in a bit of cosmetic rejuvenation, it’s good to see that it looks extremely natural and no one can tell.

Robert Downey Jr. featured in Russian Vogue
Robert Downey Jr. has come a long-long-long way. From 80s star, to drug addict, to recovering drug addict, to being jailed, to staring in 2008’s biggest action flick (”Iron Man”), to receiving a 2008 Oscar nomination.
What an exhausting sentence that was and I’m sure it was not nearly as exhausting writing it as it was living it.

Sylvester Stallone still ripped at 62!
Let me tell you that after seeing these photos of Sylvester Stallone, it’s obvious to me that Sly is still keeping active by maintaining his Rocky fitness regime.
I’m sure you’ve seen the Rocky movies (if not in the theatre, but at least on the telly) and you undeniably have noticed how incredibly fit Sly Stallone was in those movies. Oh, I forgot Rambo … Sylvester was quite fit for those movies and you’ll be happy to know that the only reason I know this is because I’ve seen the promotional posters and trailers because I’d never subject myself to this kind of torture by watching this type of movie.
I mean, the man was cut and ripped in a way that was almost insane!
It’s good to see that Sylvester has not stopped caring for his physical fitness, because from the photos that were recently taken of him on the Brazilian set of his new movie (”The Expendables” alongside British star Jason Statham, Chinese star Jet Li and Dolph Lundgren — he played the sexy blond Russian in Rocky 4) his body is incredibly buff.

Sexy 40-something Kylie Minogue graces the cover of Elle UK! She looks amazing!
I’ve featured Kylie as one of my Celebrity Beauty Match Picks two years ago, and I can assure you that she’s still gloriously sexy and she fitter than ever.
I’m quite pleased that Kylie cancer scare is behind her and that the beautiful 40-something can focus on what she does best: entertain larger crowds of adoring fans.
The best part of this post is really not to tell you about how beautiful Kylie is as 41 (born March 28, 1968), but that I got a video showing the scenes shots of the entire cover shoot affair!

Jeremy Irons suave and sophisticated at 60
What is it with all these actors who are turning 60, but looking like that are a decade or a decade and a half younger! British actor Jeremy Irons is looking quite dashing in a recent feature in Vogue Men’s. I love the intense pose of him sitting on the top of a vintage Citroen (a French car that used to be sold in Canada).
Thanks to the Baby Boomer generation, being 60 is being celebrated in a big way and it’s good news for GenXers like myself who one day might hit that milestone without too much fear.
