The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards were held this past Saturday, January 23, 2010 and COVERGIRL spokesperson Drew Barrymore won the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries for her work in Grey Gardens.
For her beauty look, Drew wanted to do something 60s inspired by Brigitte Bardot. For the makeup, Debra Ferullo, celebrity makeup artist, didn’t want to match the blue color in her dress, but rather accentuate Drew’s natural features with warm undertones.

Julia Roberts the new face of Lancôme
Joining the ranks of Anne Hathaway and Kate Winslet, as the brand’s newest “global ambassadress,” Julia will undoubtedly represent women over 40 very well!
It’s interesting how Julia has been out of the public eye for so long and now after this long absence she’s coming out in full force as the face of one of the biggest cosmetic companies in the world!
This will surely be a better gig for Julia Roberts because shooting adverts will not be nearly as demanding on this mother of three kids as spending 12 hours on a set for 3-4 months in a row!

Whitney Houston talks to Oprah on September 14, 2009
I’m not even going to go into Whitney’s crazy marriage with Bobby Brown or any of those times she made news because her strange behavior from the past!
When I was a teenager, I have to say that I never took to Whitney until the 1992 sound track to The Bodyguard. That song “I Will Always Love You” written by Dolly Parton was the song that really made me appreciate Whitney’s talent.
I always find it so heartbreaking to see people with so much talent have so many issues in life. I mean Whitney is the world’s “best-selling music artist) with over 170 million albums sold and yet, she’s had a very complicated, tumultuous and plain screwed last few years!
When she announced her divorced, I yelled Hallelujah and when Clive Davis from Arista Records declared in March 2007 that Whitney would be putting out a comeback album, I said “thank God”. Now with her second album (I Look to You was released on August 31, 2009) behind her, Whitney seems to be back on track to rebuilding a healthier life for herself.

Fall 2009 beauty and makeup trends
This fall you’ll notice the colour are more intense for fall 2009 makeup trends. I’ve noticed that many of the cosmetic lines are showing darker eyes and red lips. In some cases, we’ve seen the dramatic lips and the dramatic eyes paired together and in other cases models have been sporting dramatic eyes with nude lips and nude cheeks.
As usual, I’ve created a trend sheet so that you can have all the major make-up brands and the make-up trends in one easy and convenient spot!
I think for women in their 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s, you’re going to have to play it by ear and I’d recommend you consults a makeup artist because dark lips and dark eyes might not look flattering. You might have to bring down the intensity on the eyes and play it off a medium dark lip.

Jessica Lange is 60!
I was watching Ellen DeGeneres a few weeks ago when she had invited Jessica Lange to her show.
I was taken aback when Ellen said that Jessica Lange was 60 (born April 20, 1949)! She looks absolutely radiant and I might have pegged her to be a 50-something, but surely not more than 55.
The only reason I would have given Jessica 50-something is because she’s been acting for so long, I figured she would be up there in age, but she’s obviously been taking good care of her skin because she still looks incredible.

Ines de la Fressange is the ambassador of Roger Vivier
I remember buying a pair of high heel blue suede Roger Vivier shoes in Paris way back in the 1990s because a Parisian friend of mine had told me those were “THE” shoes to have at the time. I’ve always been a fan of their flats and I quite like that bold buckle on their current flats!
Lately, the Roger Vivier brand has been lagging and it surely was not one of those French brands to enjoyed the shoe-euphoria of counterpart Christian Louboutin.
