Yesterday, January 5th, 2009, marked the debut of Oprah’s “Your Best Life” series. Yesterday’s show was devoted to Oprah’s confession about gaining 40 lbs.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the show because it’s old news that Oprah has had a life long struggle with weight gain and she’s known to be the most famous celebrity yo-yo dieter … she’s tried every diet under the sun and she always seems to gain all the weight back.

It’s true that when she dropped to a healthy 160 lbs in 2005, it seems that Queen Oprah had really beat the battle of the bulge … but of course her December 2008 public confession proved otherwise.

Every year in January people set New Year resolutions and not surprisingly the #1 resolution is always to lose weight.

Given how many books are on Amazon on the topic, you’d think that people would get it by now, but no! Weight gain is at an all time high in most developed countries and people seem to be medicating every aliment and discomfort they have in their lives with food.

Why has Oprah gained so much weight?

On January 5th, 2009 Queen Oprah will launch a new segment called “Your Best Life” and she’ll explore weight, health, spirituality, money and sex. I have no doubt that we’ll be greeted by some of her favourite experts like Dr. Mehmet Oz.

For her weight segment, I’m sure the hot topic du jour is her recent admission that she’s gained a staggering 40 lbs!

In 2005, Oprah weighed a slim 160 lbs, but she’s gained a lot of weight and now she’s going to invite all of America (and the world) go get back on the program after they’ve “fallen off of the wagon” like she has.

Do you know which are Nicole Kidman’s Favourite Foods?

One month ago, I caught about five minutes of Nicole Kidman’s interview with Queen Oprah while the Aussie-model-actress was doing the junket round to promote her latest movie “Australia” dubbed the Aussie “Gone with the Wind”!

During the few minutes I watched the show, I was able to catch a glimpse of Sunday Rose (Nicole’s and Keith Urban’s little baby girl). I have to say that baby is quite adorable. I also have to say that Nicole looked quite content … there is still limited mobility to her face due to the rumoured over-indulgence of Botox Cosmetics, but that was still not able to hide how pleased she was with her new role as a mother.
