Olay is launching 8 new anti-aging skincare products
A few weeks ago, I was invited to a great afternoon among other beauty editors and beauty bloggers over lunch to talk about Olay’s new product launches!
The afternoon was made ever more enjoyable by the fact that we all met at the Jamie Kennedy restaurant located in the newly renovated Gardiner Museum.
International readers, if you do visit Toronto, you’ll want to make a stop at the Jamie Kennedy restaurant for lunch because the food is super delicious and the setting is so sleek. They have a patio that makes people watching a national sport. Trust me … you won’t be disappointed.
Obviously this afternoon wasn’t all about great food, we also had to talk about anti-aging skincare.

Clarins Instant Light Complexion Perfector
Now here’s an interesting product that you might not have heard of before: Clarins Instant Light Complexion Perfector!
So what does it do? Well, pretty much what the name claims. It is supposed to be compatible with any skin type to create a smooth and even complexion on your face.
You can use the product on its own or mixed in with your make-up.
It’s also quite simple to apply. You can use your finger to rub it onto your face or use a foundation brush to glide it on.
I’m not sure if it makes a dramatic difference but, it can be used on all skin colours and it leaves you with a very natural look.

Which antioxidant skincare products are French women using?
French women have also been turning to antioxidant serums to protect their skin against environmental aging. Since French women won’t go as easily under the knife and they won’t rely on beauty injections as much as North Americans, there are a number of them running to their beauty counter to find the latest and greatest when it comes to anti-aging serums.

Boots from the U.K. is still very popular in Canada and the US
Once it was reported that Boots’ ‘Nº7 Protect & Perfect’ was actually proven to deliver results, British women were racing to their nearest Boots store and buying as many tubes as they could get their hands on and the product was sold out in every Boots in less than 24 hours following the BBC2 report.
The reason for all this frenzy might be related to a statement that can be found on Boots Web site: “Manchester University along with eminent dermatologist Professor Chris Griffiths carried out independent research on ‘Nº7 Protect & Perfect’ Beauty Serum and scientifically proved that it repairs photo-aged skin and improves the fine wrinkles associated with photo-ageing”.
Boots products have been sold in Canada for about one year now and for the longest time Shoppers Drug Mart could NOT keep the product on the selves. A lot of Canadian women had heard of the BBC2 report through friends from the U.K. and it was simply impossible to keep the product on the shelves.

Have you tried the NARS Skin line yet?
NARS Cosmetics is unquestionably my favourite makeup find of 2008! Once I tried their spring 2008 collection … there was no going back!
What I didn’t know was that they also have a full range of skincare products that are equally sensational.
Not long ago, I reviewed their Aqua Gel which I thought was amazing at hydrating my skin.

Review: I tried Ferox Pure Pulp and I really didn’t find it very hydrating at all
The Ferox Pure Pulp is made from a wild South African aloe plant called ferox. Aloe ferox plants can be found in Cape Province in South Africa and they have been used by South Africans for more than 1,000 years as a remedy against burns. It’s only in 1967 that the regenerative abilities of the aloe ferox plant were put to the forefront by a surgeon after using the plant on a patient who had just received an open heart transplant – application of aloe ferox accelerated the reproduction of the fibroblasts …which are the cells responsible for the formation of collagen.

A friend of mine insisted that I take a look at these videos because she said that the humour was so sleek … I’d really enjoy the double (and triple) entendres.
The videos are really funny and they remind me of the Visa: “If life was that simple … you wouldn’t need Visa” ads (where your monthly balance is always zero regardless of how much you spend) … hey … you can’t blame a girl for dreaming!
