I’m a huge fan of hemp seeds and hemp seed oil for my own consumption, but I would have imagined that you could add hemp seed oil to cosmetics.

A few weeks ago, I was invited to a great afternoon among other beauty editors and beauty bloggers over lunch to talk about Olay’s new product launches!

The afternoon was made ever more enjoyable by the fact that we all met at the Jamie Kennedy restaurant located in the newly renovated Gardiner Museum.

Obviously this afternoon wasn’t all about great food, we also had to talk about anti-aging skincare.

We’re always on the lookout for new skincare products that claim to restore your skin to its natural and more youthful days.

What we’ve found is that Lancôme has joined forces with L’Oréal Advanced Research, Lancôme Laboratories, the Saint-Louis Teaching Hospital in Paris and the Laval University Teaching Hospital in Quebec City to create Génifique, a youth activating concentrate that aims at revitalizing your inner youth through your skin.

I’m usually a little wary of these products because I usually have very high expectations of this product so it’s a good idea to get a better idea of where the product came from.

So let’s take a look at what Lancôme did:

Yogurt is one of my all-time favourite snacks. One of the major highlights of any European trip for me is to actually eat as many different types of yogurts as I can get my hands on.

There are far more products in the NARS Skin line and I wanted to make sure that my readers knew about them.

The NARS Skin is a complete line of skin care products that ranges from eye creams to lightweight moisturizers to foaming cleansers to toning lotions to serums.

This is going to be a quick post on a product I just found out about. Since you can only get it in the U.K., not everyone will be able to get their hands on it, but I thought I’d still highlight it.

Dr Marko Lens is a plastic surgeon and skin cancer specialist with a practice on Harley Street in London who has seen his share of sun-damaged skin. It’s little wonder that he decided to create a face cream to protect the skin against the harmful effect of the sun and pollution.

More and more cosmetic companies understand that they have to provide skincare lines that are adapted to the different stages of a woman’s life.

Christian Dior is another French cosmetic pioneer that had recently hired Sharon Stone as their spokesperson. (Alas, that relationship ended when Sharon Stone expressed her support for Tibet in the aftermath of the recent earthquakes that hit parts of China in a way that caused an outcry of indignation among many Chinese clients of Dior.)

There was no way I was not going to feature this new product from Prescriptives.

To be perfectly honest, I’ve not yet tried it, but the name is so irresistible, how can I pass up the opportunity to feature an anti-aging product that’s called “Good in Bed Restoring Night Moisturizer”?

Obviously, the idea is that our cells rejuvenate during our sleep and most of us sleep in a bed … hence … “Good in Bed Skin Restoring Night Moisturizer”. The double entendre is simply delicious.

When a product is featured in many magazines, it’s worth mentioning … even if I’ve not had time to try it yet.

Kiehl’s anti-aging Abyssine Cream is getting a lot of high marks from many satisfied users and the beauty press. The key ingredient that seems that be delivering great benefits is called ‘corallina extract’ which is a mineral-rich red alga derived from hydrothermal ocean vents that seems to be quite effective at protecting the skin against environmental damage and free radicals.

Kiehl’s anti-aging Abyssine Cream also contains ginkgo, vitamin C and E. When these antioxidants are combined to the corallina extract, you get a cream that thickens your skin and help reinforce the moisture barrier function of the skin.

If you tend to have red blotches on your face that are still not fully covered by foundation or if you would prefer no having to wear foundation constantly to hide the redness, you might want to take a look at La Prairie’s Cellular Nurturing Anti-Redness cream and serum.

This anti-redness line from La Prairie is also excellent at hiding the tell tale signs of a recent dermatological or clinical treatment.

I’ve talked about Prevage in the past and have mentioned that I cannot try it because I’m quite allergic to the smell of their products.

I did notice that they have a new Prevage Anti-Aging Night Cream and since I cannot test it to see how effective, I wanted to see if any of my readers had bought it and tried it and how happy they were with the product.

Estee Lauder has a new anti-aging skincare on the market. Although not one of the most expensive products on wrinkle-fighting the market, it still comes in at the hefty price tag of $250 US/$325 CDN (you’ll find it in Canada at The Bay stores and Holt Renfrew Stores).

Now, I won’t lie, I’ve not tried this product, but I did find it important to highlight because a lot of women are quite devoted to Estee Lauder products, but also because one of the ingredients in the product was actually discovered by David Sinclair, PhD of Harvard Medical School and Leonar Guarante PhD of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The Youth As We Know It Moisture Cream by Bliss is a best-seller. Countless women swear by it as their most guarded beauty secrets and this power-anti-aging cream has been featured in Lucky, People, StyleWatch, and on Dr. Phil show as part of Robin McGraw’s favourite beauty products.

One of the reasons that explain the success of the The Youth As We Know It Moisture Cream is the fact that it’s a very thick (it has a pudding-like consistency) and hydrating cream that contains has the 10 most effective anti-aging ingredients.

It’s true that I focus mostly on skin care products that deal with skincare and anti-aging issues that are of concern to women in their mid 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s. That said, there is a large group of readers who are in their early 30s and who are just noticing the first signs of aging.
