PhytoSpecific Vital force crème bath

Feature by our Editorial Assistant Colleen

So many of us deal with dry and brittle hair, and if you’ve had a lot of work done to your hair, you won’t be surprised when you finally realize how damaged your hair can get.

I’ve had friends who complained about their hair losing its strength and trying out different products to restore their hair to its previous healthy state (before it got damaged). PhytoSpecific Vital force crème bath, is designed to strength and fortify the hair.

By using this cream regularly, you will soon see that your hair will become stronger, smoother and healthier.

This is because of the jojoba, sesame and castor oil, shea butter, panthenol and keratin that are contained in the product that helps restore your hair back to what it was, or even better.

Phyto anti-aging hair line protects your hair as you age

Feature by our Editorial Assistant Colleen

So as we age we all worry about our hair. We constantly fuss over our hair, whether it’s dying it to hide the greys to make us look younger or putting products in to give it that natural shine.

Phyto has two products that will help slow down the process of our hair becoming finer and weaker. This shampoo and serum combination uses plant extracts to restore your hair’s youthfulness and help keep it healthier for a longer period of time.

1)  Phytodensium Shampoo – This product has Gatuline® and Progenium® as well as birch and horsetail extracts black currant seed oil and a botanical protein complex. There’s also marshmallow and wood cellulous extract included in this shampoo that helps cleanse your hair.

2) Phytodensium Serum – You can use this serum on both your hair and scalp. It has sunflower, birch and horsetail extracts as well as black currant seed oil and a botanical protein complex.  It also uses Gatuline®. This serum also helps reduce the amount of gray hair you get and make your hair more resilient.

You’ll be able to find these products at select salons and most hair care shops in the U.S., Canada and pretty much anywhere around the world.

I’m a big fan of Aveda products as well as getting my hair cut at their stores.

For those of you who are also their customers you’ll be pleased to know that they haven’t forgotten what summer does to your hair. They’re prepping up for the summer with a three-product line to help you protect your hair from the sun and other summer activities such as going swimming and lying out in the sun.

Review: Phyto 9 Ultra-dry hair daily nourishing botanical cream – with 9 plant extracts

Phyto9This is such an incredible styling cream to use before blow drying you hair or even if you choose to let your hair dry naturally.

It will help tame extremely dry hair very quickly.

Phyto 9 Ultra-dry hair daily works very well at nourishing and conditioning without ever weighting your hair down or leaving it feeling greasy. Phyto 9 contains macademia oil (which is super hydrating) and a number of plant extracts (such as St. John’s wort, calendula, sage, burdock, willow, soybean, rosemary, marsh mallow) to help seal moisture in your hair.

I quite like the explanation Phyto Paris gives about the reason they’ve chosen the oils and plant extracts they did for the formula: “Native to Hawaii and very rich in essential fatty acids, macadamia oil has the distinctive feature of resembling sebum and provides intense nourishment without leaving a greasy residue. Soybean, calendula, burdock and plant extracts penetrate the core of the hair fiber to help restore keratin moisture levels. Treated from within and protected on the outside, hair rapidly regains its original shine, suppleness and softness.” I’ve got to say that after trying the product, Phyto made no exaggeration in their claims … Phyto 9 is that good!

Review: Phytokarite hair mask is an insanely moisturizing treatment

phytokaritePhyto Paris is one of the most prestigious hair care lines in the world and their products are usually featured as top editor’s picks in most fashion magazine. When so many people are talking favourably about a beauty product it’s either due to extremely good PR or because the product is in fact that good.

There are no PR gimmicks when it comes to Phyto products. Now, before I continue, I should say upfront that Phyto products are a bit expensive and they can be three to four times the prices of drugstore products but the results is as dramatic as the price difference (in other words, you won’t get these types of results from products you buy at the drugstore).

Review: Moroccanoil helps my dry ends

A few months ago I had featured products made with the revolutionary beauty secret from Morocco: argan oil.

If you missed that post you can read it here: The Argan Oil from Morocco is changing skincare!

Argan oil is also one of the reasons why the new Moroccanoil is so popular with hair stylists and women who use it in their hair.

I’ve been seeing the blue labelled bottle for a while my hairdresser, who asked me a few months ago if I had tried it yet. I told her about how back logged I was when it came to new products to test and she told me that I needed to drop everything and try this new oil because she’s been using it on ALL of her clients … regardless of their hair.

Sundari’s Neem and Coconut Hair Oil: India’s Best Kept Secret

Feature by Assistant Editor Colleen

I’m sure you all watched the Oscars, or at least looked at what people wore. Frieda Pinto, one of the stars of Slumdog Millionaire, was gorgeous in her blue gown.

Her normally smooth, long tresses were put up for a change to complete her stylish outfit.

Did you ever wonder what she used to keep her locks sleek and shiny? Well the secret’s out. It’s hair oil and now there’s a product out there that will achieve the same results: Sundãri’s Neem and Coconut Hair Oil. Sundãri is a skincare company that was formerly owned by Celebrity Beauty Match Pick Christy Turlington.

This is no secret to those in India who have been using similar treatments like this one for many-many years, but for the rest of us … better late than never, right?

Review: Redken Real Control Overnight Treat Night Recovery Treatment is an excellent hair treatment!

If there is a new hair treatment out there, I’ll be sure to try it because I’m a big believer in hair treatments … especially in the dead of winter.

I’ve been using Redken shampoos, conditioners and styling products for a long time. The Redken Smooth Down Butter Treat is one of my favourite hair treatments because it does wonders at repairing my chemically treated hair.

I just caught wind of a new product launch from Redken and of course, I just had to try it!   I’ve tried a number of times the Redken Real Control Overnight Treat treatment that is part of Redken’s “Real Control” line formulated to nourish, restore and reclaim control of dense, dry, sensitized hair.

The concept of the overnight treatment is brilliant!

I basically apply a generous amount of the Redken Real Control Overnight Treat treatment to my hair, I let it air dry and then wrap my hair with a silk scarf and head to bed. The next morning, I simply need to rinse off the product, shampoo, condition and style my hair.

We tried Pro-V Restoratives and said bye-bye FRIZZ!

Pantene_Pro-V_RestorativeReview submitted by our product reviewer Daphne

My sister and I both suffer from an ailment we’ve nicknamed “Hyannis Hair”. We call it that because it first appeared ten years ago on a trip to Cape Cod with our two hot boyfriends, Ron and Mike. I don’t know exactly what combination of temperature and humidity causes my ordinarily straight hair to turn into a 70s poodle perm, but it happened BIG TIME that week to the point that no one believed that two badly coiffed sisters could possibly be with such handsome men.

We’ve been looking for a cure ever since and I finally found it in the Pantene Pro-V Restoratives line of frizz control products. The record rainfall and humidity this summer set the conditions for the perfect testing ground.

Summer hair care with Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment – part 2

There was so much to cover in part one of my interview with Miguel Salvati, expert stylist for Ojon® Hair Care, it was impossible to include it all in one part so we had to continue talking about hair care in this second interview.

In this second interview we’ll still continue to focus on the incredible restorative properties of Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment.

Just in case you’ve not yet heard of Ojon® Restorative Hair Treatment, it’s a unique, highly concentrated hair rejuvenator and scalp nutrient made with 100% pure Ojon® oil. The product contains no chemicals or fillers. Ojon® will repair and seal the cuticle of your hair because the treatment traps the nutrient oil within each strand of hair without weighing it down.
