Have you seen EZ Combs advertised on TV?
I’d like to think that I know my info commercials and this is one that I’ve just started seeing these last couple of months: the EZ Combs.
I wasn’t impressed or that inclined to buy the thing because I have a lot of thick hair and I go through hairbands left and right.
I’ve tried all those combs and weird hair clips that are supposed to give you those fancy hairdos like the twist and let me tell you, all of the styles do not work on my hair.
I am usually left very unsatisfied. Sometimes a chopstick is more effective to twist my hair up, but that doesn’t last very long either.

Has anyone tried the In Styler Hair Rotating Hot Iron?
I’ve always been more on the lookout for the newest and latest straightening irons because I have a lot of thick hair but my editor came across this product: In Styler Hair Rotating Hot Iron.
From looking at various demonstrations of it, I find that it looks quite easy to use.
It has a dual system: a set of brushes then a polishing cylinder to give your hair that shiny look that everyone loves.
The winning aspect of this product is that is it quite versatile because it’s pretty much like a straightener and curler built in one. And I would get it if it really does make my hair all shiny in the end!

Padma Lakshmi is the new face of Pantene Pro-V Nature Fusion
These days, the former model and ex Mrs. Salman Rushdie and current host of Bravo’s hit TV show “Top Chef” is everywhere! Not long ago, I was watching an episode of “The View” (yes, I know … but it was 12 am in the middle of the night and I was posting content to the site and it was either that or listening to CNN talk about the gloom and doom of the current economy and “Chelsea Lately” was featuring a re-run) and there was Padma featuring some of the delicious recipes from some of the young chefs of the “Top Chef” competition.

Ken Paves’ and Jessica Simpson’s Hairdo gives you Hollywood Celeb hair without the high price A-list stylist!
I’ll admit that when I found out that Jessica Simpson used hair pieces to enhance the volume of her hair, I was fairly surprised because I thought she already had a fairly full head of hair. It’s only when I watched a few segments on the Shopping Channel, that I realized how sneaky these hair pieces, created by Jessica’s hairdresser Ken Paves, were because unless I had seen the before and after shots, I truly would never (EVER) know that was not Jessica’s hair.
Watching Ken Paves change a woman’s look and face just by adding a layer of hair is simply fascinating.
It’s true that you can easily get hair extensions if you are looking for more length or more volume or if you have thinning hair, but that option is very costly and very time consuming (it can take half a day to get extensions put in). Ken Paves offers a fast and inexpensive solution that is a great way to change your look for an evening or for the Holidays.
Don’t wash your hair everyday … dry shampoo it instead!
If you exercise a lot or if you tend to have oily hair, you might have been washing your hair on a daily basis to keep it clean. Washing, blow drying and styling your hair on a daily base will cause a lot stress and will end up damaging it in the long run.
Now that summer is finally here and a lot of us will have many more social events than at any time of the year, it might mean that we’ll have weeks where we are party hopping and washing our hair before every event might not be a possibility.
A good alternative for women who exercise a lot, have oily hair or have a calendar jam-packed with events had been the fashionable ponytail in between washes. But what if you don’t want to pull your hair up? What if you are pressed for time or simply choose not to wash your hair every morning, but you still want to leave it out?

6 practical tips to prevent burns caused by flat irons and curling irons
You already know the scene: you’re late for work, the phone is ringing, your kids are not co-operating, you realize that your blouse needs ironing and you still have not done your hair. As you’re frantically trying to flat iron your hair … your 5 year-old breaks something in the kitchen and the shock of the noise causes you to burn the back of your head with your flat iron!
I know that’s not a pretty picture I’ve painted, but it was my introduction to a new product I just discovered that is a MUST-HAVE to women who use a flat iron or a curling iron to style their hair. It might simply be a symptom of our times, but every woman that has tried to hurry to get ready in the morning has burnt herself at least once with her styling tool. We’re rush-rush-rush and that causes some nasty incidences.

Our flat iron contest winner Robin reveals her sleek new look!
Do you remember one of the two winners of our 2008 Karmin Titanium Hair Straightening Iron contest we ran in November?
If you remember, when it was time for me to choose one winner, I simply could not make up my mind because I felt that both Robin and Toye had done such a great job at explaining why they should win a free flat iron … so I had to beg for a second flat iron!
A few weeks ago, Robin posted a comment on one of the posts regarding the contest where she explained that she LOVED her new Karmin flat iron because she was now finally able to say bye-bye to frizziness. She also expressed her desire to show off her perfectly coiffed hair to Beauty Match readers and to the world, so I took her up on her offer and asked her to email me a photo and I told her that I’d write a dedicated post about her experience and I’d put up her photo!

Photos from recent Perfect 10 and Pantene Expressions event
A few weeks ago, P & G hosted an event at a swanky restaurant in the west-end of the city to introduce a few products. I got Eleni and Daphne to review the products, but I thought it might be fun to highlight some of the photos from ‘P & G’s champagne event’.
The evening of course included one of my favourite beverages – champagne! They were serving Veuve Clicquot and I much (MUCH) prefer Moet & Chandon, but I’m not one to turn my nose up at champagne.

I’ve selected the winners of the Karmin Titanium Hair Straightening Iron contest
In November 1st, I had posted a contest on the site to announce a partnership with the distributors of Karmin to offer one lucky reader the chance to win one flat iron.

The requirements for the contest were very simple: post your worst “BAD hair day story”.
I have to say that the 16 ladies who dared to air their bad hair day stories for the rest of the world to read were brave and I salute them.
Take a break from all this recession news!
I had always made it a policy of mine to avoid news (especially late night news) at all cost. I’ll focus on certain areas I want to keep updated about and just close the door to the rest because I’ve always found news incredibly depressing.
Since early October 2008, it’s IMPOSSIBLE to get away from all this gloom and doom recessionary-deflationary-great-depression-of-our-time talk that reporters have been feeding us 24/7.
