Hair Care Products Tested & Tried
« Previous ArticlesReview: Pantene Pro-V Midnight Expressions

Pantene Expressions has a complete line of hair-care products for women who colour their hair for style or function (aka hide greys).
They have a Pantene Pro-V Expressions for blondes, red heads and brunettes. For a while I was using the brunette formula thinking no one cared about women with black hair since few formulas are made for us. Obviously my preconceived notion was very wrong.
Pantene does care about women with black hair and it shows with their Pantene Pro-V Midnight Expressions!
I have to say that I was quite shocked by how soft my hair felt after using the Pantene Pro-V Brunette Expressions shampoo and conditioner and I can assure you that Pantene Pro-V Midnight Expressions didn’t disappoint at all!

Review: Pantene Pro-V Smooth shampoo & conditioner

Review submitted by product reviewer Eleni
What’s not to love about a company that gives you hair-care products to specifically target your own hair concerns and delivers these products at prices that everyone can afford?
The products also do what they say they’ll do. The only negative thing I can even think of saying is that there may be too many products in the Pro-V line.

Review: Nexxus Therappe shampoo and Humectress conditionner

***Review submitted by our reader Krista who won one of the prizes from the Fabulous March contest***
I cannot tell you how excited I was about winning one of the March contest prizes!
Let me state upfront that I am a make-up and hair care junkie!
I have tried just about everything, and am always on the lookout to try the new ‘it’ beauty product.
My contest prize included a bottle of Nexxus shampoo and conditioner, so I thought I would give it a run for its money.

Brooke Shields’ favourite beauty products

If you’ve been reading my site for a while, then you know how devastated I was to find out that NBC had cancelled one of my all time favourite shows: “Lipstick Jungle.”
I mean it was a real fashion haven and I thought that all three leading actresses always looked so well put together. Candace Bushnell’s story about three best friends (played by Brooke Shields, Kim Raver and Lindsay Price) who were at the top of their careers in New York City and looking damn good doing so was short lived, but the couture, bling (aka amazing jewellery), shoes and Kirby (young boy toy who is Kim Raver’s character Nico’s love interest in “Lipstick Jungle”) will linger forever in the mind of fans like myself.

Review: FHI Hair Dryer for damage-free blow dried hair all year round!
It’s that time of the year again where you just don’t want to spend one minute indoors because you want to soak in as much of the summer (with plenty of SPF protection) as you possibly can.
With summer comes another problem: humidity! Nothing screams a bad hair day (in my world anyways) like a high humidity index.

Review: Moroccanoil helps my dry ends
A few months ago I had featured products made with the revolutionary beauty secret from Morocco: argan oil.
If you missed that post you can read it here: The Argan Oil from Morocco is changing skincare!
Argan oil is also one of the reasons why the new Moroccanoil is so popular with hair stylists and women who use it in their hair.
I’ve been seeing the blue labelled bottle for a while my hairdresser, who asked me a few months ago if I had tried it yet. I told her about how back logged I was when it came to new products to test and she told me that I needed to drop everything and try this new oil because she’s been using it on ALL of her clients … regardless of their hair.

Review: ColorMark is a fast fix to help you hide greys in between colours!
Here’s another product that a few of us tried. Once you try ColorMark to hide your greys, you’ll wonder what took you so long to discover the product!
>>>> Krizia’s review of ColorMark
When I was younger, I remember the women in my family trying to hide grey hairs in between colours with a dark stick. I don’t remember the name of the product, but I do remember playing with the stick and applying it on my face as it if was makeup.
The problem with a colouring stick is that it might not always look very natural. The same goes for the use of mascara to hide greys in between colours. Mascara might be an easy and inexpensive solution if you have dark brown or black hair, but it will leave your hair stiff, dry and dull looking.

Review: Redken Real Control Overnight Treat Night Recovery Treatment is an excellent hair treatment!

If there is a new hair treatment out there, I’ll be sure to try it because I’m a big believer in hair treatments … especially in the dead of winter.
I’ve been using Redken shampoos, conditioners and styling products for a long time. The Redken Smooth Down Butter Treat is one of my favourite hair treatments because it does wonders at repairing my chemically treated hair.
I just caught wind of a new product launch from Redken and of course, I just had to try it! I’ve tried a number of times the Redken Real Control Overnight Treat treatment that is part of Redken’s “Real Control” line formulated to nourish, restore and reclaim control of dense, dry, sensitized hair.
The concept of the overnight treatment is brilliant!
I basically apply a generous amount of the Redken Real Control Overnight Treat treatment to my hair, I let it air dry and then wrap my hair with a silk scarf and head to bed. The next morning, I simply need to rinse off the product, shampoo, condition and style my hair.
Review: We tried Clairol Perfect 10 by Nice’n Easy hair colour and it’s the favourite hair colouring product ever!!!

Eleni and Daphne reviewed the Clairol Perfect 10 hair colour because since I already have a chemical relaxed in my hair, permanent hair colour is a huge no-no for me. That said, according to the beauty reviewers, they think Clairol Perfect 10 by Nice’n Easy is the best hair colour on the face of the planet earth because it only takes 10 minutes.
Not long ago as we were all heading to a women’s show we were discussing why they liked the product so much and we were also highlighting the fact that busy moms who are time-starved must find this hair colour so practical to use.
You can read Eleni’s and Daphne’s review below:

It is such a treat to try out a new product that actually delivers exactly what it says it will. YES – REALLY!!! I had perfectly glossy hair with full grey coverage at home in under 15 minutes.
Review: Pantene Pro-V Expressions Shampoo and Conditioner are hits from the experts at Pantene Pro-V!

1) Review submitted by our product reviewer Daphne
When it comes to my hair, I’m always on the lookout for more shine and body. I have my favorite tried and true products, but I’m always ready to try something new.
One of the biggest challenges is keeping my hair from looking flat and dull before my roots demand a colour job … needless to say I was all over this assignment.
Testing Pantene Pro-V Brunette Expressions Daily Color Enhancing Shampoo:
My hair tends to be oily, so I used the shampoo daily. One lather and rinse was all that I needed. The shampoo looks and feels like silky chocolate ribbons, it smells nice and the lather is thick.
