There no denying that Cate Blanchett is a super thespian who has been getting approval nods from the critics and the public.
She’s won countless awards for her dramatic and intense role because Cate Blanchett has a way of soaking in the character she plays so masterfully well. After all, very few actresses have played so many renditions of Queen Elizabeth with such perfection.
In fact, Cate was named as one of Time magazine’s “100 Most Influential People In The World” (in 2007) and she was also names as one of the “most successful actresses” by Forbes magazine.
I’ve always admired two other things about Cate Blanchett: her perfect pale complexion and her red-carpet dress choices. In a sea of Caucasian actresses turning to tanning salons, spray tans or simply the sun to darken their complexion, Cate Blanchett accepts her fair skin and plays with jewel tones to accentuate her perfect and flawless fair skin.
When it comes to choosing red-carpet wear, Cate Blanchett never disappoints. It’s true that Cate (38, born in May 1969) has a very slender figure and she can pretty much get away with wearing a myriad of styles, but her flair (or that of a very talented stylist) in picking the right cut and the right colour always surprises me. Cate Blanchett is one of the rare actresses who time and time gets it right and wears clothes that are perfectly tailored to your figure and your personality. Even when she’s pregnant and the number of styles to suit a growing belly might be a bit more challenging to find, Cate Blanchett always comes on top.
Cate Blanchett is my Celebrity Beauty Pick because she’s never tried to downplay her fair complexion and has refused to conform to the new notion that you have to be tanned looked to be beautiful. I read on a forum a few months ago a plea from a young girl who was describing how much she hated her pale skin and how badly she wanted to tan. She describe how painful past attempts had been because she always turned red. I answered her and told her that a pale skin on a confident woman is all the beauty she needs. She could be as tanned as most of the women on “The Real Housewives of Orange County” and still find herself unattractive without confidence. Cate Blanchett is all confidence and all beauty!
