Vegan, professional Ironman Triathlete, Canadian Ultra Marathon Champion for 2003 and 2007 and formulator of Vega product, Brendan Brazier has put pen to paper to divulge his nutritional approach. In his book he reveals his diet secrete which is designed around whole foods to help you lose weight, reduce stress and stay healthy for life.
The Thrive Diet is a solution for many ailments that we encounter on a daily basis thanks to our stressful lifestyles. Brendan is keenly aware of the role good food choices play in the prevention of most chronic diseases, stress, weight gain, stubborn belly fat and aging poorly.
Brendan’s approach is holistic, long-term (basically a lifestyle change), broad-thinking and his advice are not only beneficial for people who have been fighting the losing battle against constant weight gain, but it’s an excellent read for people suffering from digestive issues, sleep disorders, low energy, those who are super-stressed out and people who are simply short on time when it comes to making better food choices in their diet.
Brendan Brazier’s book has been ailed ‘An authoritative guide to outstanding performance, not just in top-level athletics, but in day-to-day life … A state-of-the-art program for top health‘ by Neal Barnard, M.D., President, Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine.
The Thrive Diet offers a 12-week meal plan for long-term results because most North Americans struggle with keeping the weight off long term. His book is also packed with 100 super-easy-to-make recipes that are based on plant-based whole foods. Since Branden is a vegan this makes complete sense, but if you are not a vegan or a vegetarian, these recipes are a great way for you to integrate “meat-free” days in your week to give your digestive system a short break.

This is a very interesting post because I didn’t realize that Triathletes could be vegan. I thought that you needed animal protein in order to perform at that level.
This is a great post and I will have to read Brendan Brazier’s book.
