Best makeup find from Fashion Week Toronto

It’s hard to believe that I’ve been sitting down for the past two days looking at Fall 2008 fashion! I’m still wearing my winter coat from Fall 2007 and I’m praying for spring to arrive. That said, a beauty editor never rests when it comes to finding the best new products for her readers.
I’ll review the major highlights and trends later this year because let’s face it … other than industry people who really wants to know what they’ll be wearing in October when we’re still in March?
I did, however, want to point out a great new product I tried that’s perfect timing for spring makeup trends!
In my media bag, I received a lot of goodies … most I’ve not tried yet. That said, I did try the L’Oreal Mascara that was handed out. Because I have naturally very curly lashes, it’s important for me to find a mascara that doesn’t clump. My long time favourite is Lancôme Extreme when it comes to mascara, but I have to say when I’m not in the mood to spend that kind of money on a mascara, L’Oreal’s Clean Definition Telescopic mascara is an excellent choice at less than $10!
The package for L’Oreal’s Clean Definition Telescopic mascara lists the usual marketing lingo: clean definition, lengthening, clump-free, perfectly-defined lashes … and I have to say that all those promises where met when I tried my mascara.
My lashes were in fact well defined and they were NOT clumpy and they opened up my eyes nicely. A few other things I noticed is that I didn’t have to use a comb to separate my lashes (which I’ve had to use to other brands) and the mascara didn’t flake at the end of the day … nothing is more unsightly than being at a Fashion Week party with flakes of mascara on your face showing the tell tale signs that you applied your makeup 12 hours ago.
One thing I forgot to mention is that you will noticed how much longer your lashes look. L’Oreal says that “lashes look up to 50% longer” … I’m not sure about the 50% part, but I do know that my lashes were long and well defined.
I’m always impressed and pleased when manufacturers make due on their promises and deliver what they promise on the packaging. I really like L’Oreal’s Clean Definition Telescopic mascara and I’d buy it again!
