Beauty and makeup products sold at pharmacies or drugstores

makeup trends
Beauty counters at department stores in Europe and in North America and bulging with amazing skincare and makeup brands to suit your every mood and any budget you might have in mind.

I get such a jolt of happiness by trying out new colours and listening to sales people describe new products … then again, as a beauty editor you’d expect that much.

Department stores offer the ease of being able to replenish your beauty stock while running to the third floor to grab a new pair of shoes.

That said, you should not overlook the skincare and makeup lines available at pharmacies (in Canada some of our drugstores are called pharmacies) and drugstores.

Most bigger chains of pharmacies and drugstores sell the same brands as you would find at department stores, but there is an added bonus. If I take the example of Shoppers Drug Mart here in Canada where I buy my favourite mascara in the whole word: Lancôme’s Extreme mascara, you’ll see where I’m going with this post. It’s true that I could grab my Lancôme Extreme mascara at Holt Renfrew or at the Bay or even Sears Canada, but I get it at Shoppers because I get to use my bonus points. Over one year, this adds up to FREE MAKE UP!

Since we are the subject of Shoppers Drug Mart, I’ve noticed their recent ‘The Look Book’ where they are offering some incredible bonus points where you buy some of the latest makeup must-haves for spring 2008.

Another great thing about Shoppers Drug Mart ‘The Look Book’ is all of the great makeup tips that show you exactly what you need to buy to go from a day look to a night look in a few easy steps.

The brands available at drugstores in North America differ from drugstore to drugstore, but if I look at Shoppers Drub Mart, I can buy anything from Dior … to Prevage from Elizabeth Arden … to ROC … to Nuxe … to Clarins … to Boots of London … to Smashbox.

You’ll be able to take advantage of Shoppers Drug Mart ‘The Look Book’ extra bonus points and special offering from March 15 to March 28th, 2008 … how perfect because it’s just in time for Fashion Week Toronto!

You can grab the electronic version of Shoppers Drug Mart beauty book packed with makeup how-to tips right here: ‘The Look Book’
