Adam Clayton is the sexy, quiet and unassuming type that makes 48 look really good!

The first time I saw U2 was the 2005 Vertigo concert tour (yes, I’m a very late bloomer when it comes to U2). During the entire concert, I thought one of the band members (aka Adam Clayton) had platinum blond hair and I found myself focusing on him during the entire time.

During that 2005 Vertigo concert tour, it was rumoured that Adam Clayton was actually working out at my gym, but I unfortunately always missed him (and trust me I tried to catch him). I actually do know people who worked at my gym who actually met him in person and chatted with him.

Interestingly enough, the girls at front desk would constantly refer to him as the “older” U2 band member with white hair … and that’s how I realized his hair was silver grey and not platinum. For the record, Adam Clayton is not the “old” member of U2 because all the members are pretty much the same age: Bono is also born in 1960, Edge in 1961 and Larry Mullen in 1961.

It’s really a funny thing when it comes to hair. Most men would kill to hold on to their hair in their late 40s (and actually see it turn grey as opposed to losing it at a young age) and when a guy has hair (and Adam Clayton seems to have a lot of hair) if he doesn’t colour it …he’s typecast as being and looking old. I’ve read reviews calling the man senior-citizen like … which I find incredibly disrespectful. We’re not all born to wear grey hair with style and panache, but I think Adam Clayton sports the look with loads of flair and confidence.

A quick note on Adam Clayton’s older-man-status … the truth is that he is only one year older than the other band members.

Well, enough about my grey hair banter and back to Adam Clayton.

Since I was so late at discovering U2, I got a crash course on the history of the band from one of my best friends … who is of Irish descent. Looking back at their history and photos, there is no doubt in my mind that today at 48, Adam Clayton (born in 1960) looks better now than at any other point in his life.

Adam Clayton is my Celebrity Beauty Match Pick because I L-O-V-E his British-slightly Irish accent, his piercing blue eyes, and the way he smiles. Contrarily to many reviews I’ve read, I personally think that Adam Clayton looks damn sexy with his silver mane. No, seriously, Adam Clayton is my Celebrity Beauty Match Pick because he was lucky enough to have discovered his passion in life at a very young age (lucky lad) and he didn’t let anything stop him from pursuing it. After more than 30 years mastering his craft as a bassist, forging strong friendships with his band mates and still rocking massive stadiums with his music, Adam Clayton shows that even with massive success one can still remain sexy, quiet and unassuming.
